    The NZRU are clearly letting the NPC wind down. That's been obvious in the past, but the massive drop in publicity and standards this year is palpable.

    There's 4 teams way ahead of the pack this season - Canterbury, Tasman, Wellington and Hawkes Bay. Auckland closeish perhaps, no one else in the same ball park.

    Regarding Heef's comment.
    There is no water cooler talk this year at the office about the NPC. In previous years me and my mate were right into it and had a personal game of the week we would make a bet on.

    I won the first 20 bets until he started to come up with the games for us to bet on.

    (I kept giving him games where the favourite on the TAB was over rated for whatever reason)

    On the rugby this afternoon. It has been much better than past years - Corey Jane showing he will be missed in England.

    Much better 2nd half from Manawatu there - dunno where that's been all season. Actually kept hold of the ball and made use of it. Poor first half and finish costing them a BP and even a win.....they pick up 1 BP though. Hopefully they play like that 2nd half against Northland on Sunday......already been to 2 poor home games, don't make it a 3rd Manawatu....

    Otago really needed that win. Making a late charge. Played well against Auckland too. Welly should have won that one (really dominant in the 2nd) but that's rugby. I wonder if the "we've basically already made the play offs" type thinking could be getting to them. Welly v HB round robin will be interesting. Still reckon that'll be the final.

    Looks like the rams had a draw against wanganui today

    Not sure if that helps them or hurts them but at least it wasnt the big loss i thought theyd have.

    Wanganui aren't the team they were a couple of years back.

    I saw the highlights of King Country's game against Thames Valley last week - absolute smashing. King Country looked bloody good for once.

    Lol completely forgot that was a shield match. The words BOP and Ranfurly shield just don't go together, though I see they have won it once before. Yeah agree with you there, Auckland are right up there this season.
