To stop the dominance of NSW, maybe we could actually do it similar to the Sheffield shield, where you can choose who you play for. But we could do it in a way that certain clubs represent certain states. So like the Gamblers/Ravens represented QLD, Rays/Saders are NSW etc etc. With that it would actually have an influence on people signing with other clubs in a quest for rep cricket. That's a 10 second thought, there will be obvious problems with it.
The best way to do that imo, would be to have 16 BS teams without a reserve grade. EDIT: I'm totally against it anyway.
I could see this working, but it would be alot of work for Cribb imo. Im just guessing. But yeah, i could see this working.
It has potential for something to happen. But i don't think rep is the best thing for it. Could start it with the 20/20 or something small
The season proper does that itself though, players are surely at least somewhat influenced over where they will get a game during the regular season. Rep games are for where the heart lies imo.
Yea, didn't like this idea. Would hate to have to move clubs to avoid being an Aussie for rep purposes. Not that i'm close to being a rep anyway atm.
I actually don't mind this idea. But perhaps the best way to work it is to use it for some sort of "All Stars" style match. East v West or whatever. I know this makes another rep game but it mixes it up a little.
Shouldn't happen. The fact is I (and probably several others) wouldn't want to play for a club that was a feeder to Victoria or Queensland, and the NSW clubs might not want me.
