I straight up don't think they should send field goals upstairs. Make a call live or it's over. To be fair, in this instance the ref actually sent it up as 'no goal' so he would've blown the penalty even without the bunker. But seriously checking this is something absolutely no-one asked for.
Yeah I agree. There's no reason why this needs to be sent upstairs. We have 4 officials to see any offside players jumping the gun, and we have them to look for blockers as well. It should be well within the capabilities of 4 on-field officials to check both. I'm just saying if they're going to look for infringements in one instance, they have to look for all infringements. Mind you I do think in one instance the bunker should be used - If the referees are unsure as to whether a shot actually goes over or not. On the rare occasion that it's a long range shot and they're not sure, I'm happy for them to quickly refer that.
Of course. Commentators only seem to care how many hit ups, tackles, metres they make, not the fact they could have missed tackles, conceded penalties, errors.
