    Nah.

  2. Jazz NC Smith

More likely to be remembered as the least successful Origin coach ever

People are always ready to make excuses for that; I really hope history remembers him as being absolutely terrible rather than just "unsuccessful" as an Origin coach.

Picking Tseve Turner , Brett White and Anthony Quinn.

His tenure was a clusterfuck. Rarely have I disagreed with so much of the shit a coach/team has done. Watching NSW team selections and strategies during that period was Tim Sheens-esque in its self-destructiveness.

I remember he once spoke about how he disliked coaching against his own boys and I've sometimes thought that there might be a bit more to that. He had a Midas touch as far as turning things to shit.

He was in line to coach QLD, but was forced to coach NSW. I can understand why he picked shitty players.

Was hillarious for me at the time. My now ex was a Storm and NSW supporter. The conflict on her face when she saw the teams was priceless.

Captain Gids on the bench, grandpa Barrett, Waterhouse, Josh Perry...

Oh, and he was the first to select Pearce.

    Cheers Belly.

What a dickbag of a human being.

Yeah dropping Campese for Barrett was a fucking disgrace....retainedWallace.

I ended up coming to that conclusion myself.

Let's not forget that he also selected a one-armed Farah, who bombed hard and was subsequently passed over in favour of Ennis for a number of games.

Fuck that was a funny game, Blues were just horrid. To Barrett's credit, he did remove Inglis from the game just as he was starting to wreak havoc.

I'm fairly certain Farah's issue leading into Game 2 was a rib cartilage injury and those are difficult to judge.

Without the benefit of hindsight, the selection wasn't that bad and wouldn't even make the top 20 things that Bellamy fucked up while he was NSW coach.

From memory it was a shoulder problem, and he could barely pass the ball from the outset.

    Rib cartilage: http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/sta...unlikely-to-play/story-fn31yxah-1225736373829

Like I said, hindsight is 20/20. He was selected before the injury and was passed fit on the Friday before the game. In 2011 Paul Gallen played with a rib cartilage injury and was a star. It just goes to show what a difficult injury it is to judge.

Without being privy to details of Farah's fitness test I don't think you can credibly blame Bellamy for that particular mistake. Every coach has been guilty of being overly optimistic with injuries and ultimately, they aren't even expected to be the experts when it comes to injuries - they have to rely on their medical staff and the player.

Yeah I don't blame Bellamy for selecting Farah. I do blame him for scapegoating Campese when he got terrible service though.
