City the only runners up I can see with a chance of progressing.

I can see Zenit, City and Milan winning tbh.

Zenit face a Dortmund side unsettled through injury and Milan pull randomly gun performances out of their arse despite being horrible most of the time. Wouldn't shock me to see Arsenal knock off Bayern either. Man U, Chelsea and Madrid are the only ones I'd pencil in to the next round.

I don't think they will, but I could see it happening.

Depends on who plays first and second.

Milan's a really inconsistent squad more than anything. On their day they could definitely click and defeat Atletico. Could've very well knocked out Barca last year.

Dortmund have looked vulnerable at times this year and Zenit could definitely win 2-0 at home or something and then just bus a result in Germany.

Quite a few of the Dortmund side are expected to be back by mid February though, and you'd expect them to be somewhat refreshed after the winter break. Fair enough about Milan, but Ahtletico have been so good this season.

Dortmund don't really have the squad to compete in multiple competitions alongside Bayern, but like Milan they can hammer anyone on their night, especially at home.

I don't think Chelsea are a lock against Galatasaray.

I think they'll go through, but I could see Galatasaray winning.

Just realised Zenit don't have any games at all until they play Dortmund. Now that I've remembered that I'm more sceptical about their chances.

    mourinho wanted galatasary too

Would apply if they were playing next week or something, but not when the matches aren't for 2 months.

The only player they'll be missing out of the current injuries is Subotic (assume no new injuries). Hummels, Gündogan, Bender will all be back.

And I'd assume they'll sign another CB given how much they've been exposed injury wise this season.

Not sure which way that'll go. Maybe they'll be a bit rusty but they won't have any injuries and it worked in their favour before when they won the Europa League.

Galatasaray the best chance of an upset imo. If they can put out Juventus they can put out Chelsea. Citeh should fancy their chances too, Barca aren't the force they were.

That match was ridiculous though. Groundsmen were pretty much shoveling all the snow on Gala's defensive half so Juve couldn't get anything going at all offensively. Juventus definitely were the better the team and deserved to progress through the group stage.

Galatasary are a pretty average side, solid for a team not from one of the big leagues but Chelsea will defeat them and comfortably.

Gundogan will be at United ;)

Couldnt have asked for a better draw for us.

Sounds like a description of Basel.

Gundogan is a good choice for united but the options on midfield will be looked only in the summer window.

I would like to see the signings of left back or a center back in the winter window... and it would also be better if they are a established player in the premier league.
