    I saw there is interest from South Africa. I'm actually surprised he hasn't been linked with the MLS or A-League.

    Nope.

    He has the same agent as Iker Casillas. So he knows what Casillas earns at Madrid, he knows what his team-mates at Barcelona earn, and wants a similar contract.

    This is just a tactic to get Barcelona closer to paying him what he wants. I'd be very surprised if Valdes actually leaves.
