Yeah, the interviews and that I read with Liam suggested that was going to be the case, but you have to take what he says with a pinch of salt, as much as I love the man. But the early signs are that he was speaking the truth. I think he's seething at how much better Noel's work was received and really wants to prove a point.

Yeah, other than Paradise City which was largely Slash/Duff. All the other classics Izzy wrote part or in full. Patience was him alone.

There would have been a GNR al;bum out by about 96 if he hadn't left. He's written some songs with Axl in the past few years so when he next releases a GNR album (around 2020 I suppose) there should be some Stradlin'/Rose stuff on there, which is always a treat.

Izzy's best solo albums are 117 Degrees and On Down The Road, both well worth your trouble if you see them knocking about. Think listening to his solo stuff you see that he was the one who kept the excesses in check with GNR, if you know what I mean. Underrated writer.
