Samaraweera has taken a total of 9 wickets since 2004 in first class cricket and has bowled a total of 43 deliveries in first class cricket in the last 4 years. He isn't really a bowler any more, certainly not one to rely on as your 5th bowler. I guarantee you that Cribb will make him next to useless as a bowler in this.
Well, I think it was to concentrate on his batting. You may find a commensurate increase in his batting ability versus what his stats would suggest. I'm sure he has a cracking batting record over the last 4 years - averages about 80-ish since touring England in 2007. I doubt it's a coincidence that his batting has improved since giving up bowling.
He didnt do much for of last reason, and I dont think he has been having too good a season in England.
Yeah I do have another keeper lined up to bat in my top 3. Aswell as another part time bowler to open with Dilshan. If I get both the lineup in the OP will remain the same otherwise Tiwary above will shuffle up one and a keeper/allrounder will slot in at 7.
Notsure how he has gone in England but this season he is averaging 22 and striking at 39 with the ball in all FC competitions this season.
Two bowlers bowling at (2), that's an excellent strategy. They won't score runs at the (1) end, and they'll be simply bamboozled at the (2) end. How did no-one else think of that?
