These shows really annoyed me, because they all looked to have lots of potential at the start (FlashForward especially - the first episode was amazing) but just never really went anywhere (FlashForward especially). I kept watching them anyway though, because I never gave up hope, and was just repeatedly disappointed by them. I think the main problem with Fringe, if you compare it to the X-Files which it bases itself on, is that once you strip away the character interaction and the "monster of the week" type episodes, the main storyline just isn't very good. The history and personal stuff between the characters is interesting and the ideas behind all the phenomena they investigate are all surprisingly original, but the whole storyline about the pattern and the other side which is so central to the show just lacks substance. I still think V could be good. Just going so slow so far. It'll probably end up like FF for me though, forever holding up hope and watching it weekly despite it being average at best. I've seen a bit of Shark on Foxtel; meh show.
AWTA so, so much. In fact, most mainstream cop shows produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. I'm looking at you, Without a Trace. They're all the same.
