CYCLONES Cyclones are also a talking point of the off-season. After Scott Wilson left the question around the Bureau of Meteorology was always “who will take over?†Jack Dempsey answered this question by putting his hand up and running the club with Matt Johns. Loyalty will play a big part of the Cyclones season if they are to come close to the Finals this Season. <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=448"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=448"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=448"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=448"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">LG Fernandes, <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=313"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=313"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=313"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=313"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">MJA Johns and <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=343"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=343"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=343"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=343"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">RK Fittaman make up the Ins for the Cyclones. Fittaman and Johns will add immense depth to the Brumbies and will make them major ALC players. Meanwhile in BS, pressure will be put on <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=403"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=403"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=403"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=403"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">S Masters to fill into <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">BJ Gemmell’s rather large boots and provide a solid innings consistently, batting at 4. <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=117"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=117"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=117"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=117"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">ND Short also joins the Cyclones and will be supporting Masters in more than a few partnerships. Some would say the Clones are in there worst position for a while with the losses of <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=112"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">BJ Gemmell, <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=130"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=130"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=130"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=130"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">D Davis, <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=323"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=323"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=323"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=323"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">DC Scott, <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=82"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=82"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=82"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=82"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">WD Robinson, <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=344"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=344"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=344"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=344"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">JP Goodfellow and <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=115"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=115"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=115"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=115"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">SB Wilson. But the first team still looks completely solid although the batting will not be as strong as usual with the losses of 3 of their top 4 from last season. The consistent Brumbies from last season will almost certainly have to perform to their best this season/ The Cyclones weakness will most definitely be in the batting depth. An injury to Dempsey could see their top 4 consist of mainly unproven batsman. This will be an area of concern for Dempsey and Johns but the signing of <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=343"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">RK Fittaman will ease this slightly. A top 5 consisting of more unproven than proven players will not be enough to get the Cyclones into title contention. Up and Coming Star I am going for <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=457"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=457"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=457"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=457"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">S Verigotta in this one. In his half dozen ALC games so far he has averaged over 50 and will be looking to go one step further and do it in the BS next season. Player to Watch <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=358"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=358"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=358"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=358"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">C Laing needs a big season with both bat and ball if the Cyclones are to compete this season. Possibly moving up to 7 in the batting order will give him new found confidence which he will look to exert into batting and bowling form. Predicted Finish: 6th
Huh? That just went straight over my head... If you predict them to be there then you must think they deserve to be there...
I think the middle of the league is interetsing. Cyclones will start weak but, like the Vipers last season improve at the end. I see alot of the other teams taking points off each other and it being tight so can see the Cyclones making 5th even 4th.
GAMBLERS Possibly the most controversial side to have never played a game in CricSim comes to life with Brett Gemmell leading the way. The team were predicted to win the competition early on with Gemmell’s impressive predicted lineups, but with strange occurances happening in the world of CricSim, a fair few of these players signed elsewhere. The Gamblers will have a point to prove and with possibly the best top 4 in CricSim History, they look like they could achieve it. A variety of youth and experience makes up the Gamblers squad for Season 9. CricSim batting gods like Brett Gemmell and Ben Manera will be teaming up with the likes of Benny Read and Ben Taylor to give good variety to the team. <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=311"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=311"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=311"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">N Spinks has been the controversial signing and there has been talk about a rift among the Gamblers already, with Spinks the main cause of it all. Gamblers players have already caused tension and have accused fellow CricSimmers of going against their word. The rivalry between the Stingrays and the Gamblers is already heating up. The Gamblers weakness is easy to see. The bowling side of things is definitely not their favoured area. Taylor comes off the back of a decent season though, so good make a difference. <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=311"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=311"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=311"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">N Spinks will have to be very decent when he is called upon with the ball and the team is definitely lacking that fear factor in the bowling attack. Up and Coming Star <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=437"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=437"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=437"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">SM Morgan looks like he is due a big score and he could get some good form going into Season 9 if he can cement his place in the team, under Gemmell. (not a place a lot of people would like to be). Player to Watch SJ Surkleton will have the pressure building up on him to lead the Gamblers attack and if he can’t gel the bowling attack together and take the wickets needed, the Gamblers will be in trouble. Predicted Finish: 4th
BS has always favored the stronger bowling sides... really can't see Gamblers finishing in the top half of the table. The bowling attack has so many questions over it and even the recognised bowlers are coming off their worst season/s.
With 10 10 10 bowling assistance hwever they will have a huge advantage athome. They have the strongest batting so will cope with it themselves. I think they will win alot of home matches but fail away.
TBH I think the Gambler's should stack there pitch to make it a batters paradise. Not many teams will out score them. As for me big season ahead. Hoping to average 50 ish
Nah, any **** can score a gutful on a dead pitch. It takes a good batsman to score runs on a pitch offering something. Extremes in either direction will tend to lessen any difference in quality.
PUMAS Scott Flack has had his recruitment boots on lately and his hard work from past seasons has finally paid off. Rumours had it that the Pumas were close to folding with important club members joining the navy and President’s being bored with the recruitment side of things, but things have completely flipped and they are definitely on the up now. The Pumas have gone for quality over quantity in this off-season. <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=70"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=70"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=70"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">C Man will be at The Mountains for a season and will be joined by <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=266"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=266"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=266"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">TA Miokovic, <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=314"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=314"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=314"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">AD Hunt, MSM Monkeywrench and <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=55"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=55"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=55"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">AJ Izett. All of which are accomplished players and could make the difference in the Pumas results next season. The major outs have to be solid opening batsman <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=43"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=43"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=43"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">DR Armstrong to the Gamblers and controversial spin bowler <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=53"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=53"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=53"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">CW Jennings to club rivals, the Ravens. <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=313"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=313"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=313"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">MJA Johns, <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=382"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=382"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=382"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">CB Darts and <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=437"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=437"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=437"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">SM Morgan round off the list. With not too many noticeable losses, the Pumas have done well this off-season. A big change from past transfer windows. Up and Coming Star The Pumas have got a relatively experienced squad and therefore it was tricky to find an up and coming star. Although <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=338"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=338"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=338"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">SLO Graham has played almost a whole season in the firsts, he has not yet fulfilled his full potential and will be looking to do so with some big scores in Season 9. Player to Watch After his transfer from the Sticky Wickets, new boy <a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=266"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=266"style="color: #000000" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cricsim.com/site/players.php?id=266"style="color: #000000" target="_blank">TA Miokovic is the player to watch for the Pumas. He excelled to great heights on the batting rankings last season and will look to get even higher this season with good framework around him. Predicted Finish: 1st
RAVENS The transfer technique of the Ravens has always been questioned and there has been no exception regarding this, this time around. Duckworth Lewis, the self-proclaimed best wHoRe on CricSim, has been very busy with recruitment and has worked with site owner Robert Cribb to make the Ravens side as respectable as possible for Season 9. CW Jennings make his way to the Unkindness from rival club the Pumas, in what is probably one of the most controversial signings of the off-season. G Shriram and JP Goodfellow also join the club from the Stingrays and the Cyclones respectively stating that they are both delighted to be coming to such a prestigious club. AJ Laing also makes his way Losing BJT Manera could be the thing that the Ravens least wanted to happen this season. But their worst nightmare cam true as the Ravens legend revealed that he would be joining up with fellow top 2 batsman, BJ Gemmell, at the Gamblers. To add salt to their wounds, DA Crowley also proclaimed that the Gamblers had tempted him in, and he will certainly and lust to the Gamblers attack. RK Fittaman leaves the club after not being offered a contract for Season 9 and will take up a contract at the Cyclones. The weakness of the Ravens seems to be the bowling depth. After the losses of key club member HT Davis and long time servant DA Crowley, the club is struggling for options. The club’s main all rounders, RG Cribb, M Perry and KD Kobain will all need to bowl their best yet if the Ravens are to take 20 wickets every game. Up and Coming Star G Shriram was the unnoticed all rounder in the Stingrays first CricSim Premiership. This season could be his big break and, taking more of a bowling role for the Ravens, could easily take a lot more wickets than he has done in past seasons. Player to Watch This has to be AD Funkotron. The Ravens top wicket taker last season will need to spearhead the attack yet again, in what is his most important season to date. Top performances every game will be demanded, and anything less could result in the Ravens slipping down the table. Predicted Finish: 5th
