He had one bad series in Season 7 (IIRC) that blew it out, when he was just coming back from an injury.
Matt Johns 6 Lower Order Batsman, Fast-Medium Bowler 8 NSW caps BS Season 8: 473 runs @ 20.57; 62 wickets @ 29.94 FC Career: 6787 runs @ 31.13; 358 wickets @ 35.15 NSW Career: 498 runs @ 35.57; 16 wickets @ 34.56 He's played games for New South Wales as a specialist number five batsman, but Johns is now essentially an opening bowler who bats a bit. While he's very frustrated with his batting, his ability to absolutely destroy a team with the new ball is really second to none and as an understudy to Tyson, he's always filled in admirably. He's likely to slot in if there's an injury to any of the of the specialist bowlers, so highly is his bowling now rated.
Yeah. In Season 1 of the BS, he scored 622 runs @ 44.43 and took 4 wickets @ 51. He played a few Origin games where he batted ahead of Olsen, Dempsey, Flack and Tyson... and even Lewis bowled before he did.
Scott Wilson 23 Off Break Bowler 23 NSW caps BS Season 8: 80 wickets @ 27.55 FC Career: 769 wickets @ 25.41 NSW Career: 125 wickets @ 25.70 The best bowler in CricSim, the Wilsonator is the key to the NSW attack. He had a poor season by his standards, but 80 wickets @ 27 in a bat-dominated season would be excellent in anyone else's books. His form for the Probables will be of slight concern but like the other Ator, there are never too many worries about his ability to step up for New South Wales with the ball.
Ted Bullpitt 2 Medium-Fast Bowler 27 NSW caps BS Season 8: 84 wickets @ 25.69 FC Career: 840 wickets @ 26.67 NSW Career: 118 wickets @ 28.96 His team came within a bee's dick of the wooden spoon and yet he still collected the most wickets at an average below 26. Bullpitt is the number two ranked bowler in CricSim and despite a poor showing in the trial, is a cert to play every game of the PC should he stay fit. What he lacks in pace compared to other bowlers around, he makes up for with prodigious away movement, both in the air and off the seam. The second most capped NSW player is evergreen.
Sam Green 21 Fast Bowler 12 NSW caps BS Season 8: 55 wickets @ 26.07 FC Career: 475 wickets @ 30.56 NSW Career: 35 wickets @ 35.17 The most accurate quick in the competition, Green has sometimes been criticised for his negative line and lack of sideways movement. In the last two seasons, however, he's transformed into a potent bowler while not giving away any of his accuracy, making him the ideal first change for any team. His latest stint in the New South Wales team has been very prosperous and he's one more good series away from really making it his own.
Donald Boland Rookie Opening Batsman, Wicket Keeper BS Season 8: 907 runs @ 32.39 FC Career: 5226 runs @ 33.72 NSW Career: - Probably the biggest surprise of the squad, Boland didn't even make the Possibles team but has been called up on the back of O'Driscoll's injury as the reserve wicket keeper. Other options included Immanuel, who has had an awesome start to his career but has precious little First Class experience, and Fung, who has done well for New South Wales Academy and Possibles but is in nightmarish form. Boland has quietly achieved with the bat though, averaging over 45 in Season 7 and turning around a terrible start to Season 8, hitting three hundreds as the Vipers made their charge. Should Dempsey fall injured, Boland will get his chance.
Rob Cribb 14 Opening Batsman, Off Break Bowler 2 NSW caps BS Season 8: 963 runs @ 38.52; 38 wickets @ 33.76 FC Career: 8144 runs @ 36.52; 322 wickets @ 31.56 NSW Career: 53 runs @ 13.25; 1 wickets @ 171.00 I'm not going to talk myself up, TBH.
