Playing career mode, when batting, the partner's AI just has him defend the entire over and usually get out after a few balls. Even if I come in and they are like on 80 from 70 or something.
Started a new career as a specialist #3 bat. About 6 or 7 rounds in and I have hit a 236 in FC and 169 in OD. T20s yet to start.
Keep at it. Hold the left trigger on your controller before every ball and look around using the right analogue stick to spot gaps in the field. Hit the ball in that direction. Eventually your timing will become good and you will score quick fifties for fun and then the big hundreds.
Hold both trigger buttons. It's supposed to be an aggressive against the ground shot, but I found it to be the safest thing so far lol.
Goes in the the air to fielders inside the ring if you get your timing even slightly wrong. Gave up trying to do that after a few attempts.
I just tried this and hit like 4 sixes in an over before they brought on a slow medium pacer and I holed out. Seems a bit cheaty and EA cricketesque though, I'm just going to try and play legit until I'm good enough for the other difficulties.
Had a dip in form for 5 games or so just now. Was trying to play every ball straight down the ground and kept edging to the slips/keeper. 3 T20 games, 3 low scores. Made a slight adjustment in the angle I was trying to hit the ball and hit 144 in the last match. You can't let your guard down in rookie mode either it seems.
