Excellent preview. But I too think the Hawks will end up higher than was prognosticated. The total package > sum of its parts, BB is a funny old game, etc etc
Firstly, great write-up. Secondly, I'm a bit surprised to be classed as a write-off. I guess what makes it even more of a shock is to be classed with the Seahawks because they just lost Boland and the Polar Bears because well… they are the Polar Bears. It's not totally unjustified either, Tiger is an immense lost. The amount of games that he almost singlehandedly won us last season is just a testament to that. But the fact still remains that we were pretty much a write-off last season too and we managed to surprise… mainly due to a little bit of inspiration from Tiger. Let's hope we find that in someone else this season… Ritchie for instance. #Ritchie4MVP Get it trending folks.
Thought that was the point. Relying on Ritchie.... Both franchises are in the same spot, in losing the player who was carrying it but yeah, I'd back the Sabres over the Seahawks any day ATM. Especially with only 3 contracted 'Hawks so far.
Conference A: 1. Parrots 2. Hammerheads 3. Mustangs 4. Ocelots 5. Seahawks 6. Polar Bears Switch 5 & 6 if the Seahawks stay with 3 contracted players for the season. Conference B: 1. Pandas 2. Colts 3. Tigers 4. Moustaches 5. Hurricanes 6. Sabres #conferenceBproblems
Reckon we can finish higher then the 'heads because Read has the potential to be as good as Warrington based off of last season and Welker = Son so then you look at who's left Vince/O'Neill/Astele/Aby vs Ridd/Wheelson/Farhat
Warrington is a lot better than Read imo. If Warrington struggles on offence as much as he did in the preseason though then yeah, that might be a different story. But last season Warrington was a better defensive and offensive player. As things stand though I reckon Warrington is a class above. In terms of potential, I can't see them converging. Not by the end of this season anyway. Also, tipping Aby to have a great season.
Hoping for a pick up in performance this season. Would be nice to get back in contact with the top 5 players in the league. I'd like to be AllBBall again this season.
Mustangs Team Preview Star Player: Wes Welker, it's not even arguable this guy is the LBJ of this sim maybe minus a little bit of the defensive hustle. He can do it all give you 20 points and multitude of other stats along the lines of 7 rebounds, 6 assists and a couple of steals and blocks. It wont be hard to get Welker going because of the fact they have one of the best floor spacing teams in the league with 3 point shooting utility Raptor Vince and 2 streaky shooters in Astele and O'Neill who can't be left alone. Team Lineup 1: Astele 2: O'Neill 3: Welker 4: Read 5: Vince D'Forum,Burridge,Logan Preseason Showed It All Game 1: Smashing the Ocelots in game 1 by 20 points running a stupid lineup with Welker at 1 and Vince at the 2. If you are averaging over 50 rebounds per game you are just going to wear your opponents down with second chance points and denying second chance points. Pass that ball, with Welker, Astele and Logan all being pretty solid distributors finding open shooters should never be a problem and this will catch teams who can't match up to us man for man off guard as only Benny Read really doesn't have the potential to get hot in the starting lineup. Even outside of those 3, Raptor Vince and Aby D'Forum are usually going to be good for 4-5 assists a game between them. One weakness, outside of lacking another star the Mustangs have one other weakness and that's punishing their opponents. They will possess at worst equal rebounding potential and offensive opportunities but they are a very turnover prone team and unless they tighten down on that aspect they will find it very hard to build leads and/or Close out games. Crucial Cogs: Benny Read, He has the job of going up defensively against the plethora of stars at the PF position. His offensive production doesn't matter on a team with plenty to pick up his slack but he must deny second chance opportunities and put his body on the line to stop make them work for points. If they want Raptor Vince to step up more offensively it will be on Read to prove he can take the harder down low matchup saving Vince's legs. What do the Mustangs expect? Playoffs at very worst... No team can get a mismatch on this extremely versatile bunch, with lengthy prospect Aby D'Forum sitting on the bench and two of the most versatile players in the league in Welker and Vince each game will come down whether they can match the other team on skill alone. Playing in very weak conference A the Mustangs feel they can get a playoff birth by being easily better then the Ocelots,'Hacks and Polar Bears whilst also possessing what Co-Owner and starting Center Raptor Vince believes to be a very favourable match up against the Hammerheads. Consistency will be the key as they will need to go around .400-.500 against conference B opponents in order to get into the playoff race as the other top 2 contenders in conference A should have no problem dispatching the bottom 3. "Giddy Up Giddy up!!!"
He is better but I think Benny can get onto that level min,fga,pts,reb,blks,ast,t/o,fls 29.8: 6.8,8.9,9.8,2.2,1.5,.9,3.5 34.4: 12.1,15,11.2,3,1.5,1.5,2.8 Offensively Read doesn't get a look in on our team but he does potential to get onto the next level which Warrington is at.
