Qualifying - Bottom Half Aaron O'Neill has pulled off a surprising win over Matt James to make it into the first round of the tournament. In what was a strangely tight win over James, O'Neill's string of poor serving never really looked like putting a dent in his game for some reason, as his opponent just made up for it with some crazy shot into the crowd. Bosh Burger was unlucky to miss out on a spot in the first round, as he lost to Brett Hall over two sets, despite pushing him very close in the second. Jonty Rhodes won the all-South African matchup, dominating compatriot Chad Dyer. Englishmen Marcuss Deane and Geraint Martyn progressed with ease, and in the final game of the day, one to watch Alistair Son looked in good form while beating Chris Raftery in straight sets.
