The matter was initially raised by Julian elsewhere but basically I'd quite like to run a team but understand why people may not want me to. Vote.
Not really sure tbh; you do get a big advantage, but it would be unfair for you to sim it all, and not take part. Will decide later.
Don't care either way, assuming that we all pick our teams before Rob does the db. The only problem would be if you had the database before picking IMO.
I wouldn't see the database until the draft was finished. Where does the advantage come from? Edit : Kind of beaten by Farny.
I don't really mind I suppose, but I think there will have to be some kind of guideline put in place for it. I mean how do we send extended votes to you and what not? Maybe someone else has to help you with the draft...
I'll sim Marcuss's game every round if he has a team to remove his simming advantage. He has absolutely no database advantage as he won't get it until after the draft.
Ah so the DB is being made up of the players as they get picked? I don't see much advantage other than the draft, as Julian has mentioned.
Yeah I have nothing against Marcuss and him putting his hand up to run this is a very good thing (especially in time with me starting uni again, so I will be more active). But as we know with drafts, it gets to the point where people need to send in several picks, and marcuss seeing said picks advantages him quite significantly.
Yeah, because you could theoretically pick any player, ever (even though most of them would be completely useless due to old age/death) I'm not going to create a database that big and then just use 0.0000000000000000001% of the players in it - it'd be a giant waste of time.
Answer to all this = Let Eds run the draft with Gazza taking the bid on himself. Marcuss can sim the games and have his own team...
Nah. The more I think about it, the more I think you deserve a team. We just have to work out how to make it so a draft does not advantage you. It will pretty much come down to honesty I suppose. PM's in white text so you have to highlight to see selections or something.
