Eastwood has been in good form. Deserves to be there.

Fui is a bench specialist. I like him off the bench. I'm not going to put JWH in for Eastwood because they don't have 80 minute backrowers and I don't want 5 props. 4 is enough.

    Beastwood is a quality player.

I'm tipping that Kasiano will get the nod over Lima

Yeah, Eastwood is tremendous. I've loved his play since Hasler arrived at the Dogs.

I'm really not sure about Moi Moi though. On ability he'd be a good addition but I seriously can't remember the last time where he played consistently well for New Zealand, maybe in the 2007 Baskerville Shield. He gets knocked around badly at Test level.

Lima was overlooked consistently when he played for Melbourne, I can't see Kearney changing his opinion on him because of a few good games off the bench for Souths.

Bromwich & Mckendry are two of his favourites on the other hand, can't see either of them not being picked.

  7. Toolman TR Man

He has been better than Moa though.

I wouldn't pick any Kiwis. They should all prove themselves in Origin first.

Fuck I wish Hunt never left.

    How so?

I pretty much completely disagree. Moa, to my eye has been the better charger and JWH gives away penalties like they're going out of fashion.

  12. Toolman TR Man

There's no doubt JWH is the better charger and gets over the advantage line more so far this season.

Because he isn't in his last two seasons of his career with an extended injury history.

Yeah I don't think Moimoi is up to facing a pack that contains Gallen, Scott, Tamou and Myles. I'd be more inclined to go for McKendry, he's stood up this year, pretty sure he's averaging over 9m/run this season.

He's also not what he was as a player in general. I've had lengthy whinges about his non-selection at Test level before but the dream is over. Moa's quite a similar player in a lot of ways; roll with him in Moimoi's role if that's what you're looking for.

NZ somehow manage to pick the completely wrong pack of forwards every year, so it'll be interesting to see what happens here. They'll no doubt call up Harrison and Halatau or something.

    I know it's only four Rounds but;

    2013 averages

    28.75 tackles @ 95.04%

    Jared Warea-Hargreaves
    12.75 runs, 105.75 metres @ 8.29mpr & 5 offloads, 2 errors
    31 tackles @ 99.20%

    Ben Matulino
    11.5 runs, 106 metres @ 9.21mpr & 2 offloads, 1 erorr
    25.25 tackles @ 98.06%

    Fui Fui Moi Moi

They're all ridiculously similar stats, no real standouts.

Wtf does his injury history have to do with anything? He's not injured now. And you picked Hodges ffs.

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

There is doubt IMO. I doubt it.

  20. Cribbage RG Cribb

McKendry and Lima are expected slightly suspect in defence.

I think JWH is a luxury NZ don't really need tbh. His discipline has been much better this year but it's still far from being acceptable and he's not maintaining a Ryles or Gallen -like statistical domination over the other candidates to give him an edge. I reckon he's an easy one to scrub from the list based on his indiscipline, especially since he was such a turd player in general before this year.

I think I'd be starting McKendry and Bromwich, then bring Moa and Matulino off the bench.
