I personally don't understand people 'hating' other clubs. Obviously you want your team to do better than others but to actually 'hate' a team because they are the clubs rivals seems wierd. I am more swayed to 'hating' a team due to the manner in which they play. Though even that isn;t hate, it's just dislike.
I slightly agree with the things like the Man U supporters team that start but bar that I still stick by my point.
Changing teams is perfectly normal. As a kid, My dad followed Hawthorne Hawks in the AFL, So up to about 10 I followed them. Then after moving north to QLD, I stopped following the AFL and followed the rugby league (Storm). Now being 21/22 and living back down in Melbourne, I have commited to following Carlton Blues & Storm. Highly doubt I'm going to switch again, Unless I move overseas to somewhere like England or something.
I will never change my stance on the Rabbitohs, as I am too passionate to lose support of them IMO. I have been thinking about this recently as I have supported a few A-League/AFL clubs recently, but none really passionately and I am trying to pick one. It's pick and stick IMO.
I could never support any other teams apart from St.George and Liverpool. In terms of the A-League i dont really follow it that strongly but I have to support Sydney as they are my local team.
Man Utd fans started up a new team as they didnt like what the Glasiers (current owners) were doing to the club. They are called AFC United or something like that. A similiar side AFC Wimbledon, for when the owners moved their team, was set up. I agree with things like that but not just changing your team. I feel you can begin to like other teams too but IMO you can only truely support 1 team, per sport. So I can see you being able to support Leeds Rhinos, Yorkshire and Leeds United.
This is a deep, deep confession. Pre 2005, I was an eels fan albeit a very weak one, due to my brother and mum being fans. (dad and rest of family were Tigers). I wasn't a big fan of league at all until the 05 season and as the season slowly grew on I went to a few games @ LO with my dad and watched a lot games with him and with local team pressure, family pressure etc I changed. Good swap imo because I went from chokers to winners. However both teams are really shit now when I'm focused and a die-hard supporter so it don't really matter.
Rugby league: I've only changed once. I didn't really follow it and just followed my dad going for Balmain Tigers and just floating around not really following it. But when i started to take more interest into League back in 1995 (I was 14) I Backed the Newcastle Knights ever since. Still got a soft spot for the Tigers but i just like Tigers (The Real ones). Soccer: Newcastle United Jets all the way baby!! I follow this team as far as i can remember. AFL: Don't really follow it but like to see the Sydney Swans winning don't follow any other team. Rugby Union: NSW tahs but also like seeing Brumbies winning but i follow as same as AFL.
Fc United of Manchester... its was against Glazer and Sky making all United kick offs at anything but the traditional 3pm. I agree with their morals. Play their home games at Gigg Lane which is Bury Fcs ground. They have had like 4 succesive promotions. They are 2 leagues below the bottom division. Think its the Blue Square North.
