Yes but it's also not as if Inu is remotely comparable to Barba in attack. Trying to replicate last year's structure without Barba will fail IMO. Better to pick a safe fullback and leave the creativity to Hodkinson, Reynolds and the forwards.
Fuck I remember when I got into a massive argument with some kents when I said fullbacks don't need to be good tacklers. This was like 4-5 years ago too rofl.
You have the most insane memory bro. Chicks are going to love you when you remember useless shit like birthdays, anniversaries and stuff.
There have been a lot of notably useless defensive fullbacks in the modern era (Slater and K.Hunt were fucking terrible earlier on in their careers). I srsly think Bowen is one of the best defensively that I can think of. He is a fucking rock, saves at least one or two tries a game.
Yes but Hunt got a lot better and was the safest under the high ball. Brett Stewart is the best defensive fullback IMO.
I can't imagine Hunt one on one with the ball carrier these days. He srsly didn't know how to tackle, all he could do was a shoulder charge...which is now illegal.
Nah. Hunt could tackle when he applied himself. He defended front line in Origin on more than one occasion.
I think Perrett is a consistent and safe winger, but too one dimensional to be effective at fullback these days. It's be David Simmons.0
Surprised there hasn't been much talk of this. I heard it yesterday but wasn't sure if it was legit or not. Apparently he's back. He could be playing as early as round 3.
I reckon the Bulldogs should've put the spin on this that Barba 'asked for time out' rather than coming out saying he was being fucked off. Really made him out to be the a bad guy.
They did though. They originally said that he asked for help and then the problems he was having came out and they changed it to "he asked for help but we knew of his problems for a while and asked him to seek counselling prior to him asking".
I got told on Monday he'd back back round 5, although considering he's already back and training wouldn't surprise me if he's back earlier. I'm still not sure why exactly he needed time out of the game? It's not like footballers don't already have a shit load of free time on their hands and surely having a day to day job is the best distraction from gambling.
