The fact of the matter is that the other clubs should be looking to learn a thing or two from the Crabs rather than whinge about another club being active. And that includes the Spartans too.
You're not if you run it like Cricsim - but you can if you don't run it like Cricsim (i.e. registrations etc. - I think they just changed the names on existing players or something)
Nah, bollocks to it. I wasn't complaining about any of the things Furball listed. I'm not a hypocrite, the Spartans subforum trumps any other in terms of ingenious ways to create interest etc, largely because of yourself. I just take issue with the copious amounts of cricketweb discussion that I know takes place and at times the place is just a microcosm of CW which is horseshit. The only peoppe erson who actually seems to outwardly give a shit how the Crabs do are GF and Athlai, for nigh on everyone else it seems second to saying stuff they don't have the bollocks to say on CW.
And you know this... how? Seriously, there's not that much of it in there but it seems that people have this impression that all that goes on in there is cliquey in jokes and slagging off other members. When the Crabs was first set up, there was a bit of that but it's really diminished. It seems to me that there's a lot of paranoia about the Crabs. You know that I've raised issues in the admin forum when I've felt they're ripe for discussion. There is no cricket chat parallel in there.
Did this just for all you haters out there. Added up all the posts in threads related to CW in the history of the Crabs subbie, and it stands at a total of 2204. There are 11,039 posts in our subbie. Do the math.
In some cases, yes. But that's not a bad thing is it? Better than posting shit on CW to stir people up and turn it into a shitfest. Honestly though, the majority of us just post and create threads in the Crabs subbie as how we would in the pub, if the pub wasn't full of retards. Lots of the guys who came to CricSim through the Crabs don't particularly enjoy the wider CS community and thus restrict themselves to the Crabs. I don't see the issue there tbh.
Seeing as Crabs/Nippers match threads have nearly double the activity of matches not involving the Crabs/Nippers, I would seriously suggest the other teams are whinging because they're not active enough and not the other way round. Oh and comparing the most recent matches with no consideration to timing or your own involvement (which generates more interest from others) is a brilliant method.
