    Pearce at fullback.

Don't joke about that shit, there's been rumours Maloney might play fullback.

Maloney would actually be quite a good fullback IMO.

Who would play five-eighth in that case though?

Would depend who did the most weights and got the best tats in the off season

Maloney has filled in for the Warriors when their fullback has gotten injured during the game IIRC. I remember seeing him fill in.

That's probably why we aren't looking for talent in the Penrith areas, kids tatted up neck to toe by 13.

I don't think we need to be looking for coaching replacements elsewhere. Surely Elliot or Taylor would get a shot first.

The Roosters don't look at players until they're over 21 and established anyway. Bringing juniors through would never work.

Yeah, I think he actually did it against the Roosters, lol. He basically plays like a fullback for them in attack a lot of the time anyway; they have a pretty unorthodox structure. From their own end he does a lot of the organising in the middle third (essentially halfback), and in the opposition half he just plays as a support player (essentially second fullback), which he does brilliantly - by far the best support player of the halves in the comp. Johnson and Mateo are their main creators on the attack, in fact you'll often see Mateo actually put Maloney through a hole.

He's a good player but I really don't think partnering him with Pearce and telling him to play a second receiver role or a split halves role is going to work very well at all. He's actually very similar to two players you already have at the club - Mortimer and Lazarus. He's an upgrade on them for sure but I really don't think it was a great buy. Signing/promoting a traditional five-eighth and playing Maloney at fullback would be a gun option but it won't happen.

Maybe they should just cut Pearce

When you don't have a junior base it doesn't, no.

But I for one can say that the recruitment during this rebuilding stage has been superb. They purchased young kids years ago and have nurtured them through. And 95% of them have been retained.

Penrith are a few years behind in the rebuilding stage, but you'll get there.

Rumours were around before Anasta left

Yes superbly done, keep as many fobs as possible but get rid of your most dedicated loyal bloke in Perret and your captain Anasta and bring in an established half and pay him more than what he should get and still miss the 8 by a mile.

Face the fact that Perrett is meh.

  15. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

I'd been calling Perrett shit for yonks and that he always comes up with a crucial error at the most important times only to be told to 'shup' by you and and Rooster fans alike.

  16. Cribbage RG Cribb

Nah I've never been a Perrett fan. Probably confusing me with MF, who loves Perrett.

Remember when I made that post about "losers" and how Copley and Croker always give me absolutely no confidence in crucial moments? Perrett also fits that.

Because over 80% of the first grade squad being players who debuted at the Roosters is such a woeful record.

  18. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

I know what you mean, I think that theory might have compounded the 'always makes an error at the worst time' thing as I was always expecting it.

  19. Magic AJ Parker

We didn't let Perrett go because we didn't want him. He was satisfied with the contract we offered him but his agent wanted to sell him and his brother as a package deal and the club couldn't justify signing another young prop to big money especially one who hasn't even represented at a level higher than SG Ball. Re-signing our two toyota cup props already cost the club enough. His decision was the best one for his brother.

Roosters have a Lazarus? Related to Glenn?
