    Threw up a shitstorm in a bakery/Cafe earlier this year in Bendigo cos they took like an hour and a half to bring out our breakfast there, ended up taking home like half the bakery after they said We could have something from the bakery instead of our money back :laugh:

    Ideally I'd like to see NSW re-combine eventually; there's just a lot more pride involved with playing for NSW than playing for half of it. The other provinces need to lift their game though; NSW City won the comp last season and the combined NSW Second XI team (which was a NSW Third XI in all but name) won the Second XI comp by a massive margin as well. The split has been well justified.

    I don't mind so much about the standard being close to that of the BS, but I want representing these teams to actually mean something; I'd like them to have some equivalent real-life history.

    Yeah NSW splitting is a justified one. However, somewhere like NZ splitting would just result in the standard getting worse and there being no gains from it.

    NSW is probably the opposite to Britain in terms of pride. Playing for NSW means more than playing for City or Country. Whereas, playing for Scotland, England, Wales or Ireland would bring more pride to the people from those nations rather than playing for a combined Britain side, which there is some pride in playing for but not heaps.

    Not many are advocating an NZ split though, we just like the idea of a NZ domestic comp which will be a feeder for the full NZ side. Would be a lot more work for Cribb obv so it would be up to him, but it would give the NZ cap some more prestige.

    The reality is though inter-provincial tournaments would be a lesser standard to BS, meaning they probably wouldn't actually effect selection to the full side or certainly have a very minimal impact. NSW could perhaps run a decent standard inter-province tournament, but no one else. I think provincial 2nd XI cricket proves as a better tool.
