Maybe, but the way i see it is. AFL fans won't want to see some shit NRL player. NRL fans won't convert because of 1 NRL player. What they will get is 10 y.o who love Folau and Hunt to cross over to follow there "hero".
Did you see the crowd at Cragieburn last weekend? Everyone is interested in how it goes. It's a first, they're supreme athletes. The same will happen in the rugby states I think, just to a lesser extent. People will tune in to see how it goes. The excitement will die off soon though and then they'll be offer regular contracts and go back to the NRL.
Why would they go to a harder game for less money? Or that young kid will start supporting someone like Inglis/Gillett.
It's all about getting the kids. Converting them over. For example, after the Folau announcement Matty Johns' son told him that he wanted to play Aussie Rules. We'll get 'em, dont you worry about that. We. Will. Get. Them. And Sydney will be ours
There aren't many kids in Western Sydney who would have an ex-Melbourne now Brisbane and Qld player who'd have Israel Folau as a favourite player.
Because they'd be wasting their time. It would be like me offering you a diet coke instead of a regular coke. Theres just no point
Don't get logic get in the way of a good story. If I had to pick the worst representative for Western Sydney, I'd be pissed off because AFL have already got him. I guess it shows again how the AFL and it's supporters don't do their research. I don't drink coke, I drink pepsi. My favourite soft drink is Pepsi Max.
Yeah, I agree. Can't see it last after 2012. It'll be a novelty in 2011, then they'll ocmpare Folau and Hunt in 2012, then become a non-issue in 2013 unless they get dropped. I think it's been worth it all already though.
