2 types of banzai drafts the one the afl sc draft does which goes like this 1, 20, 30, 31 3, 18, 28, 33 5, 16, 26, 35 7, 14, 24, 37 9, 12, 22, 39 10, 11, 21, 40 now, though it may look even - with captains it's actually far from it. to put it in perspective, on last years averages and assuming your first pick is captain - the difference between picks 1 and 10 is 32 sc pts. the difference between their second round is 5 pts. third round is 2 pts. and then the order flips back - so by the time the 'evening up' ends, they're still 25 pts behind. factor in the fact that pick 1 starts the next round, by the end of that it's 27.5 pts. It's too much. I'm in favour of ditching the herald sun version of the banzai and doing the traditional version of the banzai - which, especially when we've got captains - evens it up a little more. It still doesn't go the whole way so the closer to pick 1 you are the better.... but, it smalls the gap a little. 1, 20, 30, 40, 41 3, 18, 28, 38, 43 5, 16, 26, 36, 45 7, 14, 24, 34, 47 9, 12, 22, 32, 49 10, 11, 21, 31, 50 essentially what it does is invert the 3rd round order and then continue on as if it never happened. the compensation for not getting a top pick would be an earlier third round pick. based on last years averages this is how it'd still pan out 1. 257.8, 106.5, 104.1, 101.3 - 569.6 2. 252.2, 106.6, 104.2, 101.8 - 565.7 3. 236.8, 106.8, 105.1, 102.0 - 550.7 - 5. 232.6, 107.3, 105.4, 102.8 - 548.1 - 7. 229.6, 109.7, 106.1, 103.6 - 549.0 - 9. 227.0, 110.0, 106.1, 103.8 - 546.9 10. 225.8, 111.5, 106.1, 103.8 - 547.2 still a gap - but far less than the hs banzai system. and given i was put in charge this is the only way we're doing it if we've got captains
Does the 4 hour time limit include weekends? I'll find it tough on a Saturday due to cricket but I can send through preferences if it's close to my pick
