Spurs last year was such a gun penalty. 90th, 2-2, Fucking so much composure to score and win the game
He's probably one of the best under pressure, but he's definitely not going to score the most in normal situations. How often do you see him hit the corners?
He waits till he see the 'keeper moving to one side and just puts it in the other side... Doesn't matter that its not in the 'corner' Doesn't he have a 100% record for Man City
That's just really poor from the keeper. I don't believe that's actually the case though. If it was that easy everyone would do it.
I can knock it because I actually watch the penalties. If the keeper guesses right, they'll save it. I'm sure.
Must be one 'lucky' penalty taker that the 'keeper often goes the wrong way, or places them in the corner when they do go the right way
I'd love to look at the exact stats, but players score more often than not. In fact, it's a surprise when people miss. It's not a massive shock to see a fairly poor penalty taker not miss [m]any. If he maintains it for years as a regular penalty taker then fair enough. But he won't.
Sigh as much as you want He has a 100% record, and has scored vital penalties under extreme pressure. Not sure what grounds your basing he's a poor penalty taker, or is it just because they're not in the corner?
Pretty much. For example his one against Dortmund: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Awzdfw8khCs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I don't see how that's a good penalty.
Er.. no, that's just the keeper diving the wrong way. How is that different from when it happens to any other penalty taker? And even so, 'in the corner' isn't good enough. It would've been easily saved if he went the right way.
Another poor penalty IMO. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/e4G3hWZYs18" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Give up Don't know how sending the 'keeper the wrong way and placing it in the corner is now classed as a poor penalty. Second one not in the corner, but doesn't matter when he has already sent the 'keeper the wrong way
Please enlighten me as to what he's doing to send the keeper the wrong way? It's just the keeper diving the wrong way ffs. You don't know which way the keeper is going so you put it right in the corner to ensure the keeper doesn't save it if he goes that way.
He waits till the 'keeper makes a move to one side and places it in the other corner... Maybe not 'sending them the wrong way', but doing enough to be able to confidentially place it in the other corner when the 'keeper has made a decision...
