Update - 40th minute: The players are back on the field, the referee has blown the whistle and as the Hawks kick downfield, we are underway in the 2nd half of this grudge match.
Such, such lies. Extrapolation is sooooooo much cooler than Venn diagrams. It becomes a close run thing with a 4-set ellipse Venn diagram, but 2 or even 3 diagrams are meh.
Update - 50th minute: 10 minutes in to the 2nd half and this game is still for the taking. The Donkehs have the ball 30 out from their own line and Burridge hits it up, he gets to the 35 before being brought down in a solid defensive tackle. The ball is played back to Fittaman who looks to give it to Egg Man to get some more metres up the field, Egg Man runs it hard and straight…a good run…STILL GOING..he is finally brought down just before half way. He gets up to play it…the ball has come free…KNOCK ON SAYS THE REFEREE! Man is claiming that the defender kicked it away but the referee will have none of it! The crowd is not happy but the Hawks now have a chance to get even further in front here. Off the scrum, taylor throws it wide to Webber who charges forward himself and is stopped in a good legsies tackle just before the 40 metre line. In to Donkeh territory now, it comes back to Lozzana who throws it to Denton…he just goes hard and straight up the middle…gets up and plays it quickly, Gayler picks it up..Gayler catches the markers offside…play on says the referee…gayler to the 25…STILL GOING IS GAYLER!! TO THE 20!! Lazy defense there! He gets taken down….quick play the ball now back to Lozzana….who throws it to Taylor……who looks to pass…dummies… THEN GRUBBERS INTO THE IN GOAL!! GEMMELL IS CHASING!! SO IS POPOVIC!!! WHO WILL GET THERE FIRST!?!?!?! THEY BOTH DIVE FOR THE BALL….GEMMELL CLAIMS IT! GEMMELL CLAIMS THE TRY! The referee looks to his touch judge….HE AWARDS IT! TRY TO THE HAWKS! A nifty little kick there by Taylor who saw the space and Gemmell steaming for the ball gets there first! They now have a handy 10 point lead with a kick to come it is 8-18! Shriram who is having an ordinary day with the boot..lines it up near the right hand upright….he strikes it…and its good! Conversion successful and they now lead 8-20, the Donkehs cannot let the Hawks score again or it could be game over!
In that case, if the level of cool increases at a consistent rate with the number of sets, we can extrapolate that venn diagrams with 5 sets or more are cooler than extrapolation. So therefore, venn diagrams in their most complex and true forms are cooler than mere extrapolating.
Update – 58th minute: We are getting into the last quarter of the match now and the Donkehs need to start digging deep for some points. It is with the Hawks on 4th tackle in their own half..it comes to Gayler who looks to kick for a 40/20….he kicks it downfield…ITS LOOKING GOOD…IT GETS TO THE 20….but it sits up nicely for Luffman who gets there first….he has the ball and brings it out towards the 30 before being taken down. Erschoff comes in for a scoot he makes 10 metres before being hit in a solid tackle. The other winger in Man comes in for a scoot himself..he gets towards the 40 before being taken down. These are some good early metres. Cribb picks the ball up and he gives it to Robertson who comes in for a charge…he gets to 40 before slipping over while meeting the defense. 3rd tackle now, Cribb flings the ball quickly to Dorn…who looks to spread it wide early…he throws it to Charles..dorn wraps around him..BULLET PASS TO POPOVIC..HE HAS SPACE TO MOVE…HE GETS TO HALFWAY…Meets the defender…FENDS HIM OFF!! POPOVIC IS AWAY!! POPOVIC TO THE 40…TO THE 30….HE HAS ERSCHOFF ON THE INSIDE….HERE COMES SHRIRAM…….POPOVIC LOOKS TO THROW IT TO ERSCHOFF…SHRIRAM DIVES FOR THE BALL…BUT POPOVIC DUMMIED!! POPOVIC WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF HIM WILL SCORE…………………………….NO HE SLIPS OVER JUST BEFORE THE LINE!!! HERE COMES THE DEFENSE….POPOVIC ROLLS OVER AND GETS THE BALL DOWN! TRY TO THE DONKEHS! What brilliant work by Luka Popovic an unbelievable effort to score that one and the Donkehs are back! 12-20 with a kick to come! What a kick will be! Here we go….Dorn…to get them within 6 points..7 in from touch 30 out he lines it up, as the crowd goes quiet…..he strikes it…its got the height…its got the length OH ITS THERE BABY! He has got it and the Donkehs are back within 6! It’s 14-20 with 20 remaining! What a thrilling finish we have for you!
