Considering it's the "Rise for Alex" round, I thought this would have been the delayed game.
  3. GYR DW Lewis

I'll be shocked if the Knights don't win this comfortably considering the emotion
  4. Jazz NC Smith

Cartwirght is all the way out of his fucking mind if his updated team sheet is what he is running with. Fuck off with the centre/second rower at five-eight ploy; this isn't 2008 anymore.
  5. Jazz NC Smith

Commentators are morons. You don't need to be 100% certain, there just has to be sufficient evidence to overturn the on field call.
  6. Jazz NC Smith

Paul Carter is a lock who understands his position but can't tackle properly, Kurt Gidley is a halfback who can play through the line but can't distribute the ball before the line and Aku Uate is a winger with spades for hands.

This game is too fucking painful to continue watching.
  7. SM MD Dorn

FMD. Yeah what happened to McKinnon is pretty shit but the NRL are going pretty overboard with all the stuff they are doing for him - comparative to other guys who have suffered massive injuries
  8. Jazz NC Smith

How many other players have had similarly severe injuries as McKinnon?
  9. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

I can't remember too many that will never walk again ....
  10. Magic AJ Parker

  11. SM MD Dorn

Similar in severity or similar injury?
  12. Jazz NC Smith

Neither can I. It is quite tragic and (thankfully) rare.
  13. Jazz NC Smith

Severity. That McKinnon is wheelchair bound is obviously the salient point in this situation.
  14. Incey BC Jacobs

McKinnon's injury is worse than the other obviously, but I don't think Dwyer's was that far behind. He still doesn't have movement in his arm and is essentially paralysed.
  15. Jazz NC Smith

I had forgotten about Simon Dwyer. He's the closest in severity in recent times
  16. Magic AJ Parker

Daniel Conn was forced to retirement due to a kneck injury and has since had to resort to appearing on Geordie Shore & ex on the beach.

The NRL needs to rise for Dan and get him out of this slump he's in.
  17. SM MD Dorn

Yeah exactly. Taniela Tuiaki can't run. Guys get severe injuries all the time, the NRL are setting a benchmark. I don't hope for another McKinnon esque injury, but how the NRL would react would be pretty interesting
  18. Jazz NC Smith

If you can't distinguish the difference between the severity of their injuries then you're beyond help. Its not to say the NRL shouldn't do better with other players who suffer debilitating injuries that affect their post-NRL career but the real world ramifications for McKinnon are immeasurably worse than those of Conn, Tuiaki and even Dwyer.
  19. SM MD Dorn

No I'm absolutely not saying there's no difference. Where's the line? Injuries that leave you in a wheelchair get a round named for you?
  20. Julian BJ Taylor

The worst one I can remember is Adam Ritson and that's probably 16 years ago.
