I am guessing my player suffers from jacking up too many shots. The last two games has shown promise though.
Adding to this, using PER you can work out EWA - or estimated wins added. Again, this is a slightly flawed stat in that it cannot take on-ball defence into account, but in this sim where the only guy who can notice those things is me (and where the difference in on-ball defence quality is not as large as the discrepancy in the NBA) I suppose that isn't as important. I've also made a slight adjustment to the formula myself as our league is a bit different, but yeah, here are each of your EWAs. Code: EWA 1 Siege Morgan G-F TIG 1.7 2 Alistair Son G HAM 1.5 3 Donald Boland G MOU 1.4 4 Lucas Schaw F-G PAN 1.3 5 LeBron Ames F HUR 1.3 6 Wes Welker SF MUS 1.3 7 Brett Hall PF TIG 1.1 8 Leumas Himann C HUR 1.1 9 Aaron Hunt F-C PAN 1.0 10 Truman Lee PG TIG 1.0 11 Dirk Diggler G-F COL 0.8 12 Mate Perry SG MOU 0.7 13 Rob Cribb PG SAB 0.7 14 Gareth Weaver F-C MOU 0.7 15 Steve Cambridge PG HUR 0.7 16 Bruce Force PF PB 0.7 17 Raptor Vince F MUS 0.6 18 Luke Tyson SG OCE 0.6 19 Ginger Furball SF HAM 0.5 20 Jonny Ridd SG HAM 0.5 21 Chad Dyer PG HUR 0.5 22 Samuel Yates PG PAR 0.4 23 Jake Howe C-F PAR 0.4 24 Cap'n Cock G-F PAR 0.4 25 Dexter Astele PG MUS 0.4 26 Marquis Deen G-F SAB 0.4 27 Brett Gemmell G MOU 0.4 28 Charlie Downes F PAR 0.4 29 Chris WarringtonC HAM 0.4 30 Kelvin Fung SF HUR 0.4 31 James McDougal F COL 0.4 32 Sam Bakkum SG TIG 0.3 33 Jono Chewie C PAR 0.3 34 Clayton Evans SG SAB 0.3 35 Sticky Phlegm SG PAN 0.3 36 Reagan Wheelson SF HAM 0.3 37 Ali Farhat G HAM 0.3 38 Ryan Gayler C-F OCE 0.2 39 Regan HutchinsonG PB 0.2 40 Morgan Burridge PF MUS 0.2 41 Damien Taylor PG OCE 0.2 42 Jordan Logan PG MUS 0.2 43 James Torres SF MOU 0.2 44 Matt James G PAN 0.2 45 Benny Read G-F MUS 0.2 46 Joshua Ritchie PF SAB 0.2 47 Ganja Shriram SF PB 0.1 48 CC Classified SF SAB 0.1 49 Paul Tazewell PG SAB 0.0 50 Paul Adams SF HUR 0.0 51 Andrew James G PAN 0.0 52 Aaron O'Neill PG MUS 0.0 53 Jonty Rhodes SG TIG 0.0 54 Ben Manera PG OCE -0.1 55 John Hurricane SG PAR -0.1 56 Ben Herd SF COL -0.1 57 Luke Lukic SF MOU -0.1 58 Os du Toit C SEA -0.1 59 Shaquille O'NealC PAN -0.1 60 Tom Delonge C SAB -0.1 61 Joy Wivillian SG COL -0.1 62 Flame Boy C PAR -0.1 63 Mu Amir PF MOU -0.2 64 Ben Jacobs C MOU -0.2 65 Ryu Yamadera PF TIG -0.2 66 Theo Miokovic PG COL -0.2 67 Boshtrich BurgerG COL -0.2 68 Coon Dog PF OCE -0.2 69 Blake Quilty PF HAM -0.2 70 Jon Anraad SF OCE -0.2 71 SSD Dong PG PAR -0.3 72 Peter Retzel C OCE -0.3 73 Mike Nowitzki PF HAM -0.3 74 Aby Dforum SF MUS -0.3 75 Ether Starris C TIG -0.3 76 Tom Clough SF SEA -0.3 77 Zohaib Ikram F TIG -0.3 78 Please Reframe SF OCE -0.3 79 Alex O'Driscoll F-C HUR -0.3 80 Ben Storer F-G SEA -0.3 81 Eddie Morris SF PAR -0.3 82 Niranjan GurupurPF OCE -0.3 83 Samuel Vimes PF COL -0.4 84 Teddy Tiger C PB -0.4 85 Ivan Ryabovol PF PAN -0.4 86 Shane Masters C COL -0.4 87 BMT Con SF PB -0.4 88 Sam Verigotta C HUR -0.4 89 Paul Oz PF MOU -0.4 90 Ishan Narang C-F HAM -0.4 91 C Ochocinco G SEA -0.4 92 Henry Daman PG PB -0.5 93 Jesse Harding SG PB -0.5 94 Lloyd Townsend SG SEA -0.6 95 Bill Kirk C SAB -0.6 96 Callum Laing PG SEA -0.6 97 James Hughes PF SEA -0.7 98 Allan Izett SF SAB -0.7 99 John Heads PF SEA -0.7 100 Soumyanil Das PF PB -0.8 101 Elliot Witters G HUR -0.8 102 Zac MacDonald SF PAN -0.8 Don't worry if you're low on this list, you clearly haven't been as bad as the best players have been good - so that's nice. This kind of stat is easily improved in our league too - we're 6 round into a 16 round season. Just stay active (practice) and hopefully it shows on the court soon! Oh and the theory behind this stat is that if you remove a player from a team you could take their EWA of their record and have a somewhat accurate estimation of where they'd be without that player. eg. The Tigers without Skippos could be 4-2 rather than 6-0
Code: Marquis Deen Sabres 20.30 36.00 7.50 18.30 0.80 4.70 3.70 4.00 2.20 6.20 8.30 5.00 1.20 0.30 1.80 1.70 19.50 Those damn shooting %s
Is there any meaning that can be drawn out of the total value for each team? e.g. for the Polar Bears: Force +0.7 Hutchinson +0.2 Shriram +0.2 Con -0.4 Harding -0.5 Daman -0.5 Das -0.8 Total: -1.1
Welker 1.3 Vince 0.6 Astele 0.4 Burridge 0.2 Logan 0.2 Read 0.2 O'Neill 0 Dforum -0.3 Total: 2.6 Interesting.
EWA wins added is value above what a replacement player would do, assuming they're the definition of middle of the pack. A total of -1.1 would tell us that your team as a whole is worse than if you had an average player at every position.
Yeah, basically. Obviously it's not perfect, especially with a small sample size, but those guys are solid at at least one thing, so they're good starters/role players. If you're below that you're playing at the level of someone who's coming off the bench/is the fifth best starter. These advanced stats shouldn't be taken as gospel, obv, as you want to make sure you've got players who can play cohesively together on the court at the same time, but it's a way to maybe see who needs a reduced workload or who can give you an extra boost with a couple of extra minutes.
