Some of you may have realised that this season I've been giving a game rating to everyone in the box score (MGR for those who haven't noticed, it's on the far right after points), I just thought I'd clear up what each number really means from me: STARTERS PASS MARKS 10 - perfect game, probably has to be a top 5 all-time BBallSim performance to grab a 10 right now 9 - brilliant, great at both ends of the court, shot well, and contributed in either the assist or rebound department in addition to scoring 8 - great, you'll need to be good on offense and defense and pull high numbers in at least 1 category and reasonable in another 7 - good, good on the offensive side of the ball or defensive or solid at both, numbers need not stand-out 6 - solid, but unspectacular, a starter should look for a game rating of at least 6 5 - disappointing, a few mistakes here and there but some good things too 4 - poor, overall a game to forget with no real contribution to the side FAIL MARKS 3 - awful, that bad you became a liability 2 - horrid, once in a season bad day out where everything goes wrong 1 - retire, just retire, you don't deserve to be on a roster BENCH: PASS MARKS 8 - pretty much as much as you can ask a role player to contribute, look to start or have a rise in minutes very soon 7 - great bench production at both ends, consistent 7 marks will mean you should be a good starter when given the chance 6 - good, you were solid but nothing stands out about your game, contributed 5 - average, you didn't do much but you didn't stuff up either, a bench player should look to get at least a rating of 5 4 - disappointing, your owner would have liked and expected more from your role FAIL MARKS 3 - poor, poor from the bench is a fail, you added nothing so why should you get minutes? 2 - awful, you were a liability and had to be removed early, you minutes were probably lower than usual and might drop after a game like this 1 - horrid, everything went wrong, hopefully it won't again Hopefully that helps clear up anything the guys who can't really understand the box scores and want to know how they did or for those who have disappointing numbers but would like how they performed from a team and defensive view.
