They need an experienced coach. The list of targets should be something like this. 1. Paul Roos 2. John Worsfold 3. Rodney Eade 4. Choco Williams Also read an article about why Melbourne should try and get Leigh Matthews to the club. If not as coach, at least on the coaching panel. Made alot of sense.
They can't get an experienced coach, that's why they have Neeld. Roos isn't going to coach Melbourne, ever. Worsfold isn't going to leave West Coast. Eade maybe, but he'd get sack after 2 years.
Wut? Worsfold and the Eagles have put contract talks off until the end of the year and the general consensus is that Worsfold will either leave or be told to leave if they don't make the Grand Final.
I've heard it many times from people in the media about how he's been there long enough and they'd consider a change if they don't make a Grand Final this year. Pretty much spoken about on Footy Classified on a weekly basis. And at 5-5 a Grand Final looks unlikely.
Okay no worries, I'll trust the views of others not involved in footy over the views of those in the business. Sounds good.
Soz Nic, U R 2 good. I don't want to coach you no more. Guna go coach Lynden Dunn. I have had too much success here, need to come last.

The ABC reported that Neeld was sacked last night The herald sun is dated Febuary too. They came out two weeks ago and said they want to re sign him.
I think Melbourne need a clean out of their playing list. Trade those that don't seem to give a shit. Get a high-profile (if they can) midfielder, or at least get a shit load of draft picks. Get a proper development coach, then they can reap the rewards in a few years time.
They've got way too many list cloggers. Not sure how long the contracts of Byrnes and Rodan are but a new coach would be keen to move them on. Lyndon Dunn is barely AFL standard but does enough to hang around, similar to James Sellar.
Sellar would get a spot on any teams list purely as he's both cheap and versatile. He covers ruck, kpf and kpd (he's equally average at all) to a borderline afl standard so is the ultimate cover for an injury crisis. The problem is nobody's going to want to join. Their cap would be mid table with the whole dawes/clark contracts too. They need to recruit players who'll break out/draft well and gradually improve. None of this 'boom overpay for short term fix shit' because they'll be in the same spot in a few years.
