Live Round 10: Falcons Vs. Seahawks @ The Georgia Dome

Late Second Period:

The Seahawks defence is really up to the challenge at the moment, with Hughes leading by example.

James has the puck, and gives it off to Blunder. Blunder tries to get some room, but he's hit by Hughes and Hutchinson and goes down. Dempsey ends up with the puck though, but not for long as Borisc knocks him down as well.

Herds ended up with the puck. The Seahawks are hitting hard but not getting the puck. Herd's got space....



...But not for long as Hughes gets across and hits him into the boards, attack breaks down once again.

End of Second Period:

Buzzer goes again and it's still locked up here 1 - 1. The Seahawks defence really turned up that period but the attack seemed to die off a bit at the same time.

Mid Third Period:

The Seahawks defence continues to stand up this period, they won't give the Falcons an inch.

The Falcons have the puck with Herd, who is being closed down by Hughes. He gives it off to James, but he is hit hard, as he gets the puck, by Borisc and goes down. Blunder gets the puck out of it, but Astele hits him into the boards quickly.

The pucks come to Hughes with plenty of space and not far from goal, could he score a 2nd?! He shoots.....








...... IT'S IN!!!!!!!!!!! Hughes puts the Seahawks into the lead for the first time tonight, he has been outstanding all game!

Late Third Period:

There's a real sense of frustration now from the Falcons, they can't believe they're letting this game get away. James gets hit by Hutchinson, but he gets up quickly and starts a fight with him!

The ref is trying to break it up, but James is just laying into Hutchinson here, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop him. Hutchinson eventually ends up on the ground and the Falcons pull James away from him. They'll be getting minutes for that, maybe this is the spark the Falcons need to get an equaliser?

End of Third Period:

That's the end of this one, the Falcons just couldn't get the equaliser they needed, and they'll fall to 3rd place. The Seahawks move into 2nd and these too will be seeing a lot more of each other in the semis. This of course means the Ice Pumas slide to 4th and miss out, with the Ducks 5th and the Hurricanes 6th, taking the first IHS wooden spoon.
