Well tbh I don't have anyone over 30 in my team. My basic game plan is to sell all my 29 year olds at the end of the season and replace then with 25/26 year olds. Granted that it will never make me a top class team but it keeps my competitive and I really don't think I have the patience to home-grow a team.
Very expensive but you'd expect a player of that quality to be around that price. Especially if you bought him at the start of the season.
Yeah - and you'll probably never have to worry about finances like us anyway. And my team won't even be that good when it's fully grown which sucks. I'll have to sell off a few and go for the more elite youngsters - or even just acc/acc with good secondaries lads (as they'll have time to experience the deluxe - I wonder what the de groot fella will turn out like, tbf)

Cricsim FTP League Division 1 - 6 teams in a friendly competition - Meet once in the comp - Prize is the membership - Once or twice a year - Financed by Skippos - For the first competition, the bottom two relegate - thereafter the bottom only - Division one seedings would be decided by a panel of Skippos and whoever he chooses. Past, current and predicted ratings would be the criteria Division 2 - 6 teams in a friendly competition - Meet once in the comp - Prize is the membership - Once or twice a year - Financed by everyone else and I'll pick up the slack (i.e. those who want to donate credits and I'll pay whatever's not) - Top two promote for the first comp, after that, top only - Bottom team relegates each comp - Seedings decided by Skippos's panel using above criteria Division 3 - As many teams as want to enter - possibly 4, possibly 8, possibly two - Competition is arranged via friendlies. - Pitches are to be random, as is weather. - A fixture will be released by the competition admin, members must try to adhere to the fixture. If a previous commitment comes up - there will be a 1 week window at the end of the competition to make it up. You can also make up/do friendlies in advance I guess, during the week or something. - All matches are to be posted in here - League admin will do a ladder - Top team promotes - 2nd team plays off against 2nd bottom from Div 2 for a place Competition Rules - Affiliates are allowed (I am still undecided whether having one's main & affiliate in the same competiton should be okay) - Pitches will always be random - For when friendlies occur - there will be a home team specified. They will have until 5 days before the 'week of the match' to arrange the fixture. If they do not, the away team may send the request. If proof of request is sent by the away team and it's not accepted, a forfeit will occur. - Buying players purely for winning this comp is allowed but against the spirit - Any credits anyone wishes to contribute to the running are welcome but not required. - To be eligible you need either: 500 posts on cricsim, 100 posts in this thread or 100 posts on cricsim, 35 of which have come in this thread - If you become inactive on the forum, competition admin reserve the right to boot you from the next edition - If you sign up, it's hoped that this will be a once/twice seasonal thing, and it'd be a commitment to the friendly comp for eternity (lol maybe not) - but yeah, bailing wouldn't be appreciated especially if you're in a high div as it'd require a reshuffle.
