    Barba v Kennedy......?

Really disappointing at Barba's lack of individual brilliance that he produced earlier in his career. I'm ready to flick him on if he becomes redundant to Brisbane's 2015 backline.

We need our half to win us those tight games ...... Ben Hunt as an organiser and a leader has a ways to go.

    Where?

Kennedy played like shit for most of this year and he was definitely overpaid but Barba is one of the highest paid players in the NRL (his low amount this year notwithstanding). His overall contract will cost us a fortune.

Ugh please. We need our defence not to go missing. Never mind our halfback who, incidentally, laid on three tries. Yeah he went missing but to say he should've won us the game is a bit of a joke. Unless you're talking about all the close games apart from this one I instanced.

    Sorry....didn't see this.

    Well done Magic, PM sent.

I won't argue for our defence ...it's been atrocious for most of the season, but you can't deny Hunt's lack of leadership or football smarts at times has cost us (forgetting the Sharks game). We still lack direction and cohesiveness for large portions of every game tbh. Of course it's his first full season in the role and I'm not trying to be overly critical......but, he simply has to control our game better.

and like you said, he does go MIA a bit

......that in itself is a worry.

Giving Magic my details is concerning to say the least.....however, I'll flick you a PM soon Magic.

They definitely did slightly better than I expected solely due to Hunt playing better than expected.

Yeah. I backed Hunt as our long term option quite a while ago. But even based on his end of year form last season I still didn't see him playing as well as he did this year. I don't think anyone did. He's been downright superb.

  10. Alec AD Funkotron

Yeah, most Broncos fans were calling for him to get a shot for a while now, but I doubt anyone expected this. That said, he still has a lot of areas to improve in, he's really just a short side + dummy specialist atm.

I was one of Hunt's strongest critics a few years ago. Thought he was absolute pus. Mainly because he was. He showed very, very little early on. The thing I find weird is that Alec is right to say most Broncos fans wanted him to get a proper shot but most Broncos fans also were happy to buy the wash-up that was Prince, not seeming to realise that buying him would almost certainly mean Hunt would have to wait....which is how it turned out.

As you already know, I wouldn't blame Prince so much but rather than it took someone too long to work out Peter Wallace was total shit.

More Hunt and Prince last year, undoubtedly would've produced better results for the team and more so for Ben Hunt as a player.

Prince was rubbish too. Supporting the signing was a fool's errand as you must've noticed, in retrospect. We would've been better off just not buying him and playing Wallace and Hunt.

  14. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

    Wallace was worse.

  15. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

I'd been begging the Broncs to play Hunt at 7 since 2009.
I wasn't against the Prince signing at the time because we had just recovered from a season of Wallace and Norman in he halves so I was comfortable in the fact that they wouldn't roll that out again.
As you say, retrospectively; a Hunt/Wallace would have deffo been the go. The fact Griffin knew that he'd start 2014 with Hoffman in the halves proves his retardation.

He had moments of shitness but we'd be pushing top 4 if we kept him tbh.

  17. morgieb MC Burridge

Yeah, I don't get why your mob thought Norman was a better option than Hunt in the halves.

Hahaha yeh I genuinely forgot about it.

Was going to book it later in the week so you could have some Friday arvo beers but I'll do it right now.

    All good.

I was hoping that it was just forgetfulness .....but then you ignored my pm reminding you and I started to think the worse.
