I do see some merit in starting all 3 of them, it'd involve 1 of them coming off at about the 15 minute mark though and going back on around the 25 minute mark with Gallen playing the full 40.

lol, you're a total cock, hey...

Well it's fucking true lol. Who sits around at their mates house on cricsim, on their mobile (fucking well lol) and discuss RL. Lame written all over it imo

I don't think so. Grant and Tamou will not come back on in the first half after they've been subbed.

If both Grant and Tamou start it means that after 15-20 minutes NSW will play until half time with only one recognised prop. It means Creagh or Watmough along with Bird playing middle-third whilst Gallen is the only front rower on the field.

It's absurd IMO. You don't go that light at club level, why would you do it in Origin? This is the lightest pack NSW have picked since Bellamy's decision to move Fitzgibbon into the front row.

This is what NSW's pack will be for at least 30 minutes.

    8.Creagh/Watmough
    10.Gallen
    11.Scott
    12.Lewis
    13.Bird

The fascination with backrowers is bizarre.

How is it any different than you coming on Cricsim whilst sitting in your barracks hiding when you're supposed to be out there protecting our freedoms?

Yeah it's personally not something I'd go with as Stuart will obviously be planning to have only one prop on the field for an extended period. With the way I mapped it out NSW would always have 2 props on the paddock bar injuries, having the 3 big blokes out there for the first 15 minutes could be handy against a fired up QLD team and crowd, although any advantage gained would be far outweighed by the negatives of only having one prop on the field for 25-40mins.

I think dropping Merrin will come back to bite them. He's overdoing this mobility stuff and overloading on backrowers. It's great to be mobile but you still need big men. Where is the sense in asking Creagh to play up front when you could just play Merrin, or TLL?

I personally don't see an issue in making Tamou or grant play 25-30 and having Lewis play their role defensively and make 10 min worth of centre field runs after we've battered the fuck out of their middle third his or birds footwork will carve afaik and Lewis can handle the defence especially fresh off the bench

2008 Game 2 was the last time NSW went into a game without a single prop on the bench. Interestingly, the last time Stuart was coach, in two of the three games he coached in 2005 he didn't take any props on the bench. The bloke deadset hates props.

So, once Tamou comes off, you want to put Luke Lewis in the front row?

I guess Stuarts theory is that:
QLD have NSW beat for size and strength in the front row
    and
QLD have NSW beaten for skill and ability in the hooker/halves
    and
QLD have NSW beaten for experience and combinations

That's why he'd probably think 'We're not gonna bash our way over them and Pearcey isn't going to out create Cronk and Thurston so we need a different strategy, we'll aim for quick feet everywhere, centres, back row and front row, try and run rings around the big blokes.'

TBF he's done a decent job with it thus far in the last 2 series, NSW have been very close in all games bar the mini-gated game 3 of last year.

I disagree. NSW have been close but a lot of it, in the forwards at least, has to do with Gallen finally stepping up, (and as a prop). As well as Tamou finally doing what so many other props have failed to do before him. He's been a massive boost.

But that's the point, Stuart has obviously seen that there's a need for some props, but with Gallen he's got the freedom to try out his hair brained schemes.

I'm not saying I agree with it, just that that's his plan and has had comparative success to date.

I think Stuart's comparative improvement, I'd rather say than success, comes from being a much better motivator and Origin coach than his predecessors. He's made better selections than Bellamy, but no better than Murray IMO. I also happen to think that the QLD side hasn't played particularly well at least in this series. Bellamy never got a look at us stringing together two shitty performances in a row.

I still think Merrin got unfairly dropped and it was a poor decision from Stuart which has left himself and NSW open for middle-third domination due to a lack of props.

We haven't even looked like dominating them once in the forwards this year.

Yeah true, Merrin definitely got a raw deal. Perhaps Stuart reads the forums and found out how badly I used to smash him in the 18s.

And Stuarts best attribute is definitely getting the players fired up, Murray doesn't fit the origin coach description and Bellamy's only good because he had 8mil a season to spend on players and half the Queensland side.

I never really understood how Murray got a crack tbh.

We definitely outplayed their pack in Game 2 IMO. Not dominated but we definitely got the better of them. It didn't seem like it because we coughed up three times as much ball and played a lot in our own territory. With an equal error count we would've run all over them. Scott made more metres than Tamou and Grant combined. So did Shillington.

We made 200 more running metres. Even with Parker going off injured after 8 minutes, our forwards still made more metres in total. And that was with Taylor starting and no Thaiday.

I do fear Harrison getting shafted next year if Parker has a big game at lock (which I'm predicting him to do). He's been one of our best middle-third runners this year, in the limited time he's had. And was good last year too. Always makes good metres per run.

I honestly think the losing side has had the better forward pack in both games. NSW dominated us in Game 1. And we just got the better of them in Game 2.
