Recruitment has been poor. They need to blow up most of that roster. I wonder what money Marshall is on.
Everyone they signed this year was obviously just willing to play first grade on minimum wage. George Rose, Kris Keating, Eto Nabuli, Dane Nielsen, Heath L'estrange, Beau Henry Wow.
It's going to take some time to get that team in order. Seems like they are going for a full rebuild which can take years. The problem here is have they got the right man to do the job in McGregor? As a fan of a club who has gone through this exact same thing over the last half-decade, I can tell you it isn't easy. We still aren't even finished with it yet. Of course that may have something to do with going through a stack of coaches and CEOs over that time.
Ofcourse the blame should be on Doust. Mary and Mullohand are in their first 2 rounds of their first full season at the club that's got some huge issues. Even if you truly believed all the issues with the club didn't predate them who do you think hired them? The issues go well beyond just the football side though, they've been in serious financial trouble for a while now. That is probably the biggest issue right now and the buck simply stops with Doust.
Yep. CEO and management team always come before the coaches unless it's a well built team putting out tripe. Nobody could do much with a roster this bad and until finances and management are sorted they're no hope. I mean if it's a good juniors area and none are coming through, you can't blame Mary for that.
It all went pear shaped the day they gave their Rookie of the year scholarship to Mitch Rein instead of me. Let them rot I say.
All the good juniors want to go elsewhere. Look at the coaching roster from 1st grade down - its an unprofessional old boys club - McGregor, D Young, Hornby... I know for a fact it was one of the major reasons they lost Hastings.
