  1. Mr Chook MR Chook

    So it'd be basically between:

    Reynolds
    Maloney
    Mullen
    Keary
    Sezer

    Who should get the nod?

as long as it's not fucking Maloney

Reynolds has a broken arm. Won't play for 6-8 weeks. Doubt he'll retain his spot.

I really don't think Sowie would be far away.

  8. Mr Chook MR Chook

Knew I was forgetting one. Yes, add Sowie to that list but he'd still be behind 3 of them.

I can't believe Keary is being forced to play for NSW. I'm so against it and would be if it was vice versa. His Grandparents and parents are all Qlders along with the fact that he was born in Qld. I know there's got to be rules put in place but if I had moved to Sydney at age 10 and was then forced to play for NSW I'd be filthy with the situation. I can understand it if there's no prior generations from that state but that needs to be a distinction in eligibility imo.

    I'm hopeful Qld run with:

    1. Slater
    2. Copley
    3. Inglis
    4. Hodges
    5. Chambers
    6. Thurston
    7. Cronk
    8. Scott
    9. Smith
    10. Myles
    11. Guerra
    12. Gillett
    13. Parker
    14. Lillyman
    15. McGuire
    16. Cooper
    17. Segayaro

In all likelihood Thaiday will be there ahead of one of those bench players and DCE will be picked. Gagai would also be a potential wing option but I really don't like his defence.

  11. Magic AJ Parker

If it was any other hooker in the world I'd see some value in selecting Segeyaro and it's extremely tempting given how good he is at scooting from dummy half but I don't think you can justify having Cam Smith off the field for 20 minutes and there's no way you can run with both on the field at the same time. Both need to be at dummy half for the full time they're on the field to be effective.

  12. Magic AJ Parker

    Also you forgot Papalii

  13. Lukic L Popovic

    Blake Austin @6

  14. GYR DW Lewis

Don't be so certain. Daley still loves Pearce and can see him being picked for game 1. He may give Hodkinson a go first game but if he fails, Pearce will play.

  15. Hunter AD Hunt

    6. Soward
    7. Pearce

    Fuck yeah.

  16. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

    Please, please pick that.

It's really a non-issue for Keary himself, I cant foresee him actually playing at Origin level. However, there will come a day when a quality player is forced to play for the State he doesn't want to.

Would the NSW selectors even consider him seeing he has so publicly tried to avoid playing for the Blues?

  18. Pretzel P Retzel

Pearce qualifies as an elite club level halfback IMO.

  19. Julian BJ Taylor

You can harp on all you want but Greg Inglis and Qld have fucked it for everyone forever.

Yeah better than some of the names on that list. I'm ecstatic he's at Canberra.

I think post Gidley and co he's probably more suited to the bench utility role though.
