Played a few games recently... what's the thought on this vs LoL? Haven't played LoL for so long I can't really compare them.
Very different games and it's up to preference. Dota is more complex overall and harder to learn, but despite having the same aims they play very differently. The fanbases are always at odds though, I play both and like both and stay out of the arguments.
I enjoyed LoL but have found the group I tend to play with is hooked on Dota2. Dota seems new and fresh to me so am enjoying it.
Yeah, you'll find it new and refreshing going from Lol to Dota and vise versa. I went from Dota 2 to LoL and thought the same thing. I still play Dota quite a bit though and will always have a soft spot for Dota if I had to choose between the two, but yeah, very different games. Saying one is better than the other is just personal preference because of those differences.
Completely up to individual preference. LoL is getting a huge rework of the map, which will make it look a lot better. I prefer LoL to DotA but that's because I started with LoL and am now invested in it's gameplay and quirks.
At the risk of having nowhere to put it, apparantly a top-tier HoN player OD'ed and died... Not that being a top-tier HoN player means anything any more but still...
I pissed away like ~2000 games on LoL. Then switched to Dota. 500 games already. Such a timekiller. And I'm not even good. Though with certain heroes even I cant fail.
Anyone watch that ridiculous 70 minute C9 vs DK game? Burning was 8 slotted and tobi wan was going absolutely crazy during the teamfights. Game 2 then ended in 12 minutes
I saw the first, fell asleep before the second (was coming off 4-5 hours sleep the previous nights and hadn't slept that knight)
So fucking mad my computer completely crashed 2 days ago (because I lost all my shit, other than that, glad it broke). Haven't been able to watch any of the games, or do anything, really, for that matter, as a result. Luckily enough for me I'm using my dad's computer atm just to check cricsim etc. but can't do anything until my new pc is ready to pick up from umart probably late this week/early next week. FYI, the computer that died on me was really shitty and old, so literally anything I played was on lowest settings. Going to be good to FINALLY play dota (and anything else) on proper graphic settings for a change.
Pretty much the best I could do with my budget. Should be decent enough to run everything I'd like to play smoothly on high/highest settings. Next thing I need is a new monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse and headset when I get the chance, but they're not essential, just would be nice to have new stuff to match the new computer.
I have been trying to watch them on twitch via mobile/ipad, but have only been able to catch odd games here and there. Would have liked to watch it through the Dota 2 client though because I could go into player perspective on specific players so I could hopefully observe and learn some more stuff with certain heroes I want to improve on when the best players in the world are using them.
