Also stoked they'll be on friday night footy this weekend, will be the first game of theirs I'll see for the season.

 

I'm thinking Freo by 17 or there abouts.

 

I don't really follow AFL at all but Freo would probably be my top team if I did.

 

That was a gut wrenching loss, Mayne should've kicked us to the win, but in fairness the game should never have go to that point, in between the shocking set shots from a number of dockers and just the sheer lack of composure and desperation from players in the back half.


Everyone just crumbled in that second half, no clean hard ball gets and a lack of hunger, blokes just not putting their heads over the loose ball. Some fucking shithouse umpiring decisions didn't help either, especially in that 3rd term. There was one call where the Essendon player dove at the legs of a Freo bloke and it was awarded a high shot, that moment was a 12 point turn around as Essendon went up the other end, got a 50 (again off a dubious call) and kicked the goal.



Makes it even worse that it was to Essendon, have always fucking hated those cunts, especially since they beat us back in the early 00's when we made our first ever finals series at 5th and lost to them at Subi.

 

I really think Pav needs to put on a bit more size too, I've thought he's looked to thin for a few seasons now, but understood it was probably neccesary for him to play midfield.

I think an extra 4-5 kegs and greater upper body strength would really help him to be more effective as a key forward on the half forward line. He was out gunned and out muscled at nearly every contest on Friday night.

Maybe they should just get up by 8 goals then let teams come back at them? Would give them a 2 goal win and allow for exciting finishes?
