    Fantastic choice. He's the best player I have ever seen, the complete package. Does anyone else ever wonder how Johns career could have panned out if the ballsy short side play in the final seconds of the 97 GF had gone tits up and they lost?

    That's not true. They had a worse record without Buderus than what they did without Johns. To say Johns was the team is nonsense. Danny Buderus in his prime was a huge part of Newcastle.

    The fact that Johns' said he didn't think he deserved it shows the wisdom of their choice.... I am sure Mal is at home crying in his schnitzel because he didn't get the nod. He's an arrogant son of a gun and Johns is twice the player Mal was. Mal was still a fantastic player, but Johns was another class above.
