CS badly lacking a general poker thread imo. Anyway, myself and Jake have signed up for a freeroll starting at 6:42pm on Pokerstars, has a maximum of 9000 people which has been filled. The top 72 players of this tournament get a satellite to a Weekly Round 2 tournament of their choice, the Weekly Round 2 tournaments are of a variety of games such as Triple Stud and Hold'em Poker. Prize pool of $2000. There's also a Daily 90K Saturday freeroll tournament which has a limit of 40K people, that got filled yesterday. It's at 3:35am.. out of 40K people, 8th - 72nd win $5.50 and the top 7 get a satellite to the proper Daily 90K which had a prizepool of $120K last time, it's a guaranteed $90K + buyins anyway. I'm gonna stay up for that one. 3:35am AEST, sounds good, nothing like early morning poker ya. Freerolls are so gun (for cheap ****s and 15 year olds). I reckon if I enter enough of them I'll get a satellite into a cash tournament sooner or later.
Entered the NZ one last night for full tilt poker. Came 9th out of 729 players. Won $3. I'm in tonights one atm, 27/342. Up $12 atm. Placed in a couple tourneys today too.
Good effort, are these freerolls? Presuming so if you only won $3 from finishing 9th - that, or they are like 10c buyins.
That was freeroll. They are on each night at 8:40pm so it's ideal. Was up till 1:30am last night though.
I might have to try Full Tilt, never used it before as I'm far more comfortable with PokerStars and have never seen a reason to change. If there are decent freerolls though I may as well jump on. What was top prize?
Haha, fair enough. I havent played for money for ages. Rage quit it so hard when i got donkyed. I had q10 of spades raised the pot preflop Flop was q 10 7 The 7 was a spade so the flop was awesome. I bet the pot which was quite a bit. 2 folds and 1 caller. Turn was 5, again a spade. I bet the pot again, again i get called. River was an 8, i went all in, other bloke went all in for less and turns over 6 9. I quit the tourney i was in and havent played since
Used to play the FTP freerolls in my first year at uni, best placing was 2nd but the prize was significantly lower then.
I lost >1,000,000 chips on party poker with pocket kings. And I ended with K K K K A Other **** ended with A A A A K Never played since.
Yeah i used to play them too. I came 8th once outta 754 players. won **** all though, was a joke. I was chip leader at the time too, and the short stacks kept going all in for just over the blinds, i kept getting medium hands like k10, a8 j9 etc so i kept calling and getting hammered. Ended up going all in on AA and the other big stack called me with 88 and hit an 8 on the turn.
There are some websites that would have given you a bed beat jackpot for that if it was cash poker. Where you would have won $10k or something and everyone at your table would get $1k or so. It was when any hand better than quad 8s lost, since it is soooooo unlikely.
12 minutes into the freeroll on Pokerstars. The field is down to 5,393 from an original 9,000 players and my stack is $1,590 up from $1,500 to start. I've been playing pretty defensively though, keen to push on now and see how I go, would love to make top 1,000 even. 72 spots get a satellite so that's the ultimate goal but obviously it's not going to be easy.
On a 10 minute break, only like 10 mins in. :S At $1145 after starting on $1500. Been getting shit flops but good pocket cards.
Gunna check out Full Tilt soon as well. Keen to get in on smaller freerolls. I wanna improve/get money from them and play real money sit and go's and shit.
