After winning about $1000 over the weekend and constantly being bugged by Hunter, I've decided I might as well take the plunge and buy one of these so I can play Rugby League Live. I'm very confused by the different models of 360s, though, so I'd like some advice if possible. What I'll use it for: Playing Rugby League Live Playing Rugby League Live online Playing other sports games online at a later date The Arcade is the cheapest by far, but comes with no hard drive - instead just a 256MB memory card. Given I have no intention of using the thing to rip music or anything like that, how far will 256MB actually go? I have no idea what sort of space saved games and anything else that'd need to go on there would take up. If I pay an extra $100, I can get an Xbox 360 Pro.. which comes with a 60GB hard drive. Will I need that? I'm thinking of going that at this point tbh. Another question is.. how do I go about getting Xbox Live set up? What does it cost, is it instant, do I do online? What's the go?
Pro will be enough. Elite, is obviously better. Buy xbox live 12 month subscription and either depends on if your wanting wireless or ethernet cord tbh. Cause if you want wireless you have to buy an adapter as well at market value of $120. But if you got the most expensive the Elite, I believe it has wireless already built in.
Also keen to know this, Christmas is coming up soon. Wouldn't mind getting a PS3 either. Might do that for the blu ray aspect as well, cus our DVD player is a piece of shit.
Won't need wireless, where I'll put it is right near my modem. And yes I know which ones are better - I'm just not exactly sure why, and if I'll need/use the better features I'd pay for. Not point buying an Elite if I take up **** all hard drive spac and don't use the wireless feature.
Go the xbox 360 Pro, Xbox also just released the black slim model which is gearing up for the project Natal, so have a look at that. it also has wireless connection for your net/xbox With xbox live, you just need to connect your xbox to ur router via ethernet cable, takes a little bit to have it recognized, then you go to EB games, Buy a subscription and enter the code (I believe you can purchase the code online too) then your away.
Get a pro then. Use the Ethernet cord, Plug it in, then go to xbox live on the 360 menu and go through the profile setup. Firstly you need to buy an Xbox Live Subscription though.
PS3 online may be free but your paying more for the console initially for online play that **** all play.
PS3 costs more, and less CricSim members seem to have RLL on it, so it's a poor option for me at this point.
Hmm if lots of CricSim members (plus another net mate I have) all have xbox's I might get one...yeah?
Just checked to see how much memory I have used up in games. It's 1.7gb. Then went through and counted all the sports games(FIFA 09, 10, WC, NBA2K10, Madden09, RLL) and it was about 80mb Xbl you can access automatically by connecting it to the modem and shit. To play online you need a gold subscription. The one I suggest to get is: http://www.ebgames.com.au/xbox360-134980-Xbox-Live-12-Month-Premium-Gold-Pack-Xbox-360. Gives you the subscription, headset and 200 points to spend on shit plus this nifty arcade billiards game. EB has it at $108 but I got mine for like $80 elsewhere(gamesmen I think?). To my knowledge the only difference between the arcade and the pro is the harddrive but I know **** all.
