Pretty amped for this match. We had impressive wins over Storm and Titans, and then a lackluster win over the Sharks. I reckon knocking Manly over at home will really show that we are coming back to form and will confirm us as top 8 material, possibly top 4. We have had more or less the same squad for the past month that has really helped us on the field. In the past 3 wins, we've only conceded 8 points a game. Way down from the 30 odd we were early in the season. Manly are missing Lyon and Matai, but I believe Foran is returning. Our backs are much better than theirs, our forwards just need to fire like they did against the Storm and the Titans ans will should win this. There will be key contests out wide I think. Folau and YowYeh v Whare and Robbo. And Glenn/Gillett/Teo and Winterstein v Foran and Williams. My tip is Broncos by 10.
Broncos all over them. Would be up by 30 if not for the weather and some desperate last second defence by Manly.
All their forwards were awesome, even Lagi had a decent game. On a side not can't believe that referee rule still exists, what a ****ing shit rule.
There are signs that Brisbane could really be contenders in the second half of this season. The addition of Tronc has really helped.
I didn't even see Lagi out there until the last 10. Everyone else was great though. Thaiday is a machine.
It's not saying much though is it? Was thinking about it today there actually is no real contender bar the Dragons atm and even with their record it's not a guaranteed thing. Every time a 'contender' they seem to fall away and I don't think Penrith are the real deal... I reckon the premiership is open for another Parraesque run which just shows how shit the comp has been this year imo.
Origin period should be easier on us this year. Now with Folau prolly not being in the QLD side, we'll only be missing Thaiday and Lockyer (but then again, they are pretty much our best 2 players atm).
I'm not saying contender as in omg, top 8. I'm saying that I really think that they can match it with st.george etc with some luck regarding injury. The young blokes like Gillett, Hoffman, Yow Yeh, Hunt have all improved since the start of the season. Slot Hodges back in and it gives us a backrow rotation of Thaiday, Parker, Teo, Gillett and Glenn. That's pretty good imo.
Yeah. I can't remember the last time Brisbane have had so little for Qld. Says a lot about their retarded recruitment of late and the fact that they keep signing shit **** NSWman and kiwis.
Only 1 NZer and 2 NSWelshmen in today's side tho. Sims probably won't be in the side when Kenny is back, so that's only 2 non-QLDers.
