perhaps feild goal options, such as if six points up at 74+ mins within 30m take feild goal if draw at ...., and agreed perhaps same with penalty options, kick for touch quick tap kick for goal...
Pass heavy, run and gun, attack through the middle, attack out wide, kick a shitload/tacticly (eg titans vs storm earlier this year for tacticly <_<), etc.
Also being able to choose your interchanges and when they come on/choose to swap players on the field during a match will give you a lot more involvement in how the team is run tactically.
I think it'll be mad if you could have a player be in one position but play in a totally different one, ie have some forward at 6 then your FB fill in at 5/8 during attack etc.
It is just getting too specific IMO. Now you are just starting to tell the sim how to play out the match.
Pretty sure kicking for the sideline at certain times and only going for 40/20's when the wingers are up in the defensive line are tactics.
I was more referring to penalties being taken when ya 4 pts behind, which is a bit ridiulous and wouldn't happen in real life.
@ RyanG That seems a bit to nit picky to me though if you know what I mean, a good feature yes, but in practice is probably a lot more hassle than it's worth.
surely it would be easier to perhaps just have some tactical styles which include some of these tactics as a part of them so it includes a attacking, defensive, penalty options, kicking options all into consider ation but its just one input
