Right, so let me get this straight: Even though it is being widely reported and it's now fairly common knowledge (and common sense) that Ighalo is attracting interest from Arsenal, in particular, I'm not supposed to believe any of it. Is that right? It's all just media lies and speculation? Right...gotcha...thanks for setting me straight mouse and Riddy. Dunno where I would be without you.
And what the hell's wrong with the Metro anyway? Virtually everyone in London who rides the tube and is not playing Candy Crush reads it. It's not even a tabloid really...it's just news.
Fiery I've given you reasons why I don't believe Ighalo will be at Arsenal or Chelsea already. I'm not going through it again
Firstly theres nothing wrong with the Metro for infomation, sure its not really a real paper, but all its info is just pulled from the other papers and newswires (for want of a newer word), its basically not much below every other paper, just with less racism in its main articles. It wouldn't be as widely read if it was full of bollocks constantly (or, you know, cost anything) Secondly £20m on a striker who's proven to score in the Prem is pretty much a steal, and Chelsea are no stranger to forking out for someone to be a squad member up front (see Pedro, Remy, Djemba Ba), in fact Igahlo is probably the exact type of striker they'd go for to play second fiddle to Costa. The move probably wont happen, but stranger ones have in the past, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is some substance to these rumoured interests. Naturally when a window shuts and a player doesn't move its easy to slam the stories as fabricated, but it doesn't mean a player hasn't been discussed, considered, maybe even a tentative approach to the club made.
Pedro wasn't brought to be a squad. He left Barca because he wasn't happy with his minutes on the pitch. His form has been bad, hence why hes found himself out of the starting XI for most of the season. Plus his injuries Ba and Remy were both cheaper options due to release clauses in their contracts. Big difference than if they went after Ighalo, who will cost £20m and will he be happy being second choice because hes not getting ahead of Costa The Merto does a job, but you can't tell me its the most reliable source to quote regarding football rumours And has he proven he can score goals? based on 12 months? Theyre plenty of strikers who have had a purple patch and then failed to live up to it in their second season. I'll wait to call him a proven goalscorer until next season
Of course he's a proven goalscorer. He scored the most goals across all English leagues in 2015. And he has already scored 15 in the PL this season to be 4th on the goal scorers list. (And that includes his recent 8 game drought in which he has had very limited opportunities because other sides have dominated) He's a goalscorer alright. And you won't find many better in the league. 34 goals for Watford in 61 appearances. He's the main reason we're even in the PL and currently in the top half of the table.
See that's just such a woeful comparison. I don't really want to have to bring religion into the argument but Zaki is a muslim who had massive behavioural issues and problems with his coach in a couple of crappy rugby league territory clubs because of his religious demands. Whereas Ighalo is a devout Christian who is loved by fans and coach alike. He hasn't even failed in this 2nd season like you are predicting yet you're prepared to write him off already. I'll remember this conversation and probably point and laugh at you in a years time...or maybe when he does get signed by a bigger club...(which is inevitable.)
Clearly taking the piss with the Zaki comments. You know, the whole one season wonder tongue in cheek comment but oh well, clearly didn't get that.... I've made my points, and I'll stick with them.
And when have I wrote him off? I'm just saying one great season in the Prem does not warrant being called a proven striker and being linked with top 4 clubs. Its an impressive record so far, but we will see how he gets on next season
Sure champ. Whatever you say striker scoring goals getting linked with top 4 club, shocker... We are going in circles
He'll almost certainly be in the Prem next season, whether it's at Watford or a bigger club. Talk to me again same time next year
So you're admitting he is getting linked now? In an earlier post you said he "does not warrant" that. So which is it buddy?
