Sorry, I really hate whinging about something like this. But I seriously think that's a massive no-no.

    What the extra stuff?

Yeah look really you can't leave it to the end.

Either should've had it from the start, or not at all.

Also what do you mean drafting American football players? Like we can draft JJ Watt or Rob Gronkowski? That's nuts.

The reason (for mine) that you can't is because the first 4/5 picks will be Hayne/SBW/Burgess/Hunt and they will go straight into first team and just about everyone else picked won't go into the team at all.

  5. Benny BS Read

Yeah those teams get two first round quality guys while the others get spuds

I reckon make round 18 females.

And if you have an injury they have to come in.

Even though I'd prob be in the first 4/5, I agree. Can't be allowed.

  8. Tartmaster AJ James

    Yeah bad idea imo.

  9. Lukic L Popovic

lets just make round 18 backups guys from the superleague

hunters already filling his first 25 cap early tho.

So let me gets this straight, you all want people who play another sport (Burgess, Hayne etc) at the beginning, and then since I add them on later which I've always said I would be willing to do, it's now an issue lol. It's fine by me not doing it, it's less work but pretty sure there are 12 world class Rugby Union players and American footballers that would work for any RL team

It fucks with the whole balance of the draft is you just randomly add in 5 first round players to round 17.
Those 5 will get a big advantage, and everyone else will either get shitcunts, or pick JJ Watt & Dan Carter etc which is just silly.

  12. cloughie09 TJ Clough

I'm just making the point that people wanted to pick the players who have previously played the sport Earlier on before the draft started, and to be honest picking Dan Carter isn't as silly as picking Sonny Bill for example simply becuase he played league for a bit. It's all swings an round about to when I suits people. I'm not arsed either way, just thought it would make things more interesting

The problem is Hayne would've been picked in the first round, SBW and Burgess in the second round etc. Instead if you make it the 18th round, whoever gets them gets ridiculous value and the dropoff between the best guy taken at the start of that round and the last one is huge, considering the last one either will have never played RL before or can't be judged properly.
How do you decide who gets them?

I have no idea how you can't see this as a problem.

  14. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

This is the issue. You can't just add a stupid round at the end, whoever gets first few picks have an insane advantage. If the guys like Burgess/Hayne etc were available, they would have went in round 1. Imagine one of the blokes who got JT/Smith/Inglis getting someone like Folau in round 18. It's just stupid. Either everyone is available from round 1, or they aren't available at all.
You really don't have much of an idea about league.

  15. cloughie09 TJ Clough

Because it's a bit of fun, and it's all objective

  16. cloughie09 TJ Clough

It all depends on what postion you need and who think would be a better fit for your team. No point picking SBW if you need a stand off.

  17. Lukic L Popovic

Yes there is a point in picking SBW or Burgess or Hayne even if you need a stand-off or halfback - that is they are one of your worst players.

The difference between Hayne and just about everyone's fullback, or Burgess/SBW and their 4th best forwards will be bigger than the difference between whoever is available as a standoff or half that isn't in rugby league. In fact, the best 12 halves and five-eighths in league would be the best 12 in the world unless you think a rugby hack could come over and be better, which is unlikely and impossible to predict regardless.

  18. cloughie09 TJ Clough

It's not like many league halves have ever made in union either but yeah it's impossible to predict but I always thought that was the fun in stuff like this. Actually trying to predict who could do well and make something happen that never would

  19. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Cloughie nobody agrees with you. Your bullshit last round isn't happening.

  20. Julian BJ Taylor

No-one proper ever really tried though did they.

Australian Union tried to move worlds for Johns and Lockyer but they weren't interested.
