Avengers Mafia: Game thread

This is true, but this is why I suspect it was a late conversion. Plus, I certainly get the feeling that Furball was glad to have died, so backing a lynch on him may in fact have been supportive of him. I don't have the most theme knowledge, I must admit, but if you look at Ultron's character the guy just won't stay dead and keeps getting reconstructed as upgraded models.

And as for saying converting a paranoid cop is useless - that's bs. The best target for a conversion is someone that Town have some belief in. I don't doubt for a moment you are Bruce Banner, but that seemed to be confirmed so early in the piece that it makes you a prime target for subsequent conversion - regardless of your ability.

Why continue to investigating people? Well, if you don't and someone watches you, then you'll have some explaining to do.

This is all about whether you've been converted, not whether you were originally mafia.

 

Happy to answer any questions you've got, but really there's no much more to it than I've already alluded to. I know it's not a standard mafia role, but in a game where conversions are clearly a critical element to the game, it makes perfect sense. Could my ability have been tampered with? Well, I don't think so - other than roleblocked, which I have been plenty of times (I had assumed that Athlai had roleblocked me n3 as he shot me with an arrow that night, but he said in the thread that it was an arrow which allowed him to track me, which makes barely any logical sense at all, but clearly someone else roleblocked me). If my ability has been tampered with at all, I would think I must have been redirected somehow.

It was that fear that led me to re-read the thread (around d4/d5 I wasn't around much, so had to go over all that section with a fine-toothed comb) because (1) I believe you're Banner (2) I find it hard to believe you were turned early on. However, I can't find any hide-nor-hair of any reference to redirections in the thread, which is why I made my post.

 

Perhaps if he was the Hulk. But he's not, he's Bruce Banner and a paranoid cop role.

I presume there's some trigger for him becoming the Hulk though? Maybe if he gets lynched/night killed he gets angry and Hulks up.

What I'm wary of though is the third party conversion. We know it has happened once already, I can't see that it couldn't/wouldn't happen again. And I don't see why Bruce Banner wouldn't be turnable.

 

Another reason why I was wary to post it in the first place. But the information I have is what it is. I'd be remiss if I didn't put it out there. And if it does turn Banner into the Hulk and he starts killing things, maybe he take out a mafia. But I don't think that's the case - I reckon he'll be Ultron Mark 2 and start killing us anyway if we do nothing.

(I'm happy if someone can correct me on how Ultron works, but certainly that's the feeling I got from reading his Wikipedia profile. And Furball's death post was full of hubris.)

 

So what triggered the random kill mechanic?

Anyway, great work from Weeman this game. Excellent under the radar mafiaing.

Ah. I see. So, what was Ultron's power? Seriously thought there was more to come from him, even before Furball's death post.
