Oh I love Smith. But he's hardly the best ever at his age and currently anyway. Just a very good player and he looks elite in this.

What are these team attributes? Are they the tactical shit we filled out.

So there are right and wrong tactics. Urgh.

Yeah it was in the team submission form. You had a max of 400 to spend. So you targeted areas you wanted to focus on I guess.

The actual playing tactics (depth and so fourth) doesn't affect the overall rating but will affect how you play and whether or not you win playing like that with your team.

Bingo, I've figured it out. It seems to be in groups. The groups being:

    Attack and Defence
    Rucking and Mauling
    Scrummaging and Lineouts

So say if I give 100 points to spend for attack and defence, no matter what each one is each time so long as it adds to 100 it won't affect the amount added to the rating. Same with the other groups. There seems to be a larger emphasis on attack and defence compared to the others which makes sense as Droos had his at 90 for both whereas someone like Mariner was 73 and 70 (taking a more balanced approach) which is why his rating was significantly lower.

Had I known this I would have just allocated 140 odd points for each group but it's probably too much of a hassle to get everyone to redo it so I'll just work out the ratios for each attribute in a group that people submitted and change the ratings accordingly so they fit within the 140. Either that or just set it to 70 for each.

    Okay I am lost

Ok so the team attributes are:

    Attack
    Defence
    Rucking
    Mauling
    Scrummaging
    Lineouts

These appear to be in groups so like a % of what the attack and defence is, is added to the overall rating. So say if you had 140 points to spend between attack and defence no matter how you distribute the points so long as it adds to 140 each time, it'll add the same portion to the ratings. This is the same for the other pairs of attributes. However there seems to be a larger emphasis for the attack/ defence pairing compared to the others hence why Droos had a much higher rating than say someone like Mariner who put a lot less points on defence/ attack when in hindsight when I took the team attributes to 0 it was a lot closer.

    IT ALL MAKES SENSE. Haha.

    Ah I see.

Can i change mine then :3

  8. Eddie EI Morris

My reserves are going to kill any chance of my team getting a decent rating.

  9. Rego RS Hutchinson

Yeah go for it. That applies to anyone as well.

Max of 140 points to spend per each pair - I've edited the original post in the team submission thread to reflect this.

p.s. do my team pls pls pls

I'll do your team next if you change your attributes....which will be in the morning now :p

I'm 100% confident your team will be a Div 1 team. Genia and Lambie :fap:

Speaking of Lambie he's really become into a decent balanced unit these days that can attack with width and control the game with his boot. Really good on defence as well. Has an extremely high tackle success rate (something like 94% iirc). Personally I prefer him at 10 so it's a good thing you're most likely going to play him there.

Actually quite interested how the ratings will look now. I'd suspect most people to be in the 80's now which feels more life like.

Yeah my #1 aim was to pick versatile backs especially in the key positions. I feel really comfortable knowing that I'm more than covered in the event of virtually any injuries with Lambie, Barnes and Steyn all capable of covering first and second five as well as full back. I've taken a hit in star creativity for extra versatility and more options. Harris and Lucas on the pine as well.

Still prefer my forwards though. No stars but no weak links. Reckon Grant is probably going to be the best bench prop around.

    Updating it now.

Yeah injuries are likely to fuck a few teams over. Really like your team tbh, in some ways more so than mine. Pretty sure your team will be up there come the end of the season. I guess it really depends on tactics as well (haven't truely analysed what people have put yet)

  14. Skippos SM Morgan

Make no secret that I'm tactically weak as. So that'll fuck me.

  15. Rego RS Hutchinson

Ok so I've changed the attributes so each pair is out of 160 now (out of 140 was late 70's for everyone and it just didn't feel that realistic) I'll add 10 to each attribute for yours Skippos.

I've also edited a couple of Droos players that needed addressing.

    The ratings are:

    SA Collegians 83.9
    Thunder RFC 83.8
    French Fancy 83.7
    Redfern Reds RUFC 83.3
    Mariner's Tigers 82.4
    Redwood Phoenix 81.3

  16. Arheiner SIA Yates

Wow, this is a very even draft. 0.2 splitting the top 3 so far says it all really.

I wouldn't look into the overall ratings too much since everyone gets the same amount of team attributes being 160 (pairs). That being said it does give a good indication.

83.3 now. Ratings were flawed before.
