Titans 1-12 is always a good bet, rarely beat teams by lots. Dunno when the TAB will learn to stop putting the half time draw at $10. Easy money for the titans. Normally slow starters, and good defenders early on
Ben Hampton looked good. He's lacking a bit of bulk though. I'm not sure what should happen next year. I think it's the right time for Billy to move to 5/8th. He's pretty sharp on his toes young Hampton. Maybe he could play 1 full time...
Already an article about Billy moving to 6. I find the move hilarious, and it will probably cost him his spot in the QLD side, or atleast move him to the wing.
Hinchcliffe played the house down last night. I do think it would be wise to mix things up a bit though. I'd still probably go: 9. Smith 13. Hinchcliffe 7. Cronk 6. Slater 1. Hampton
You actually think it would be worth moving Smith from hooker? If Hinchcliffe was that good, there are a shitload of clubs who need good hookers.
Not even close. Hinchcliffe is your classic case of people overrating a player who is good but doesn't get much hype.
Slater stays at fullback until he retires imo. His game is built around his unparalleled play as a link-man, his relentless support runs, ability to hit holes, finishing and dangerous running in broken play. All of those aspects of his game his largely disappear if he moves from halfback. Then in the halves he'd spend most of his time at first receiver being asked to pass and kick, despite the fact that he doesn't kick and has a weak long-passing game (especially left-to-right).
Hinchcliffe is still dining out to one game in 2011. He is a quality hooker and he would be a great addition to many teams but he wouldn't get half the praise he does if he didn't play so well in the CvC match. The hype Hinchcliffe gets from most people is no different the hype that a random u20s player gets from fans based on the 40 minutes of him they saw once on TV. Playing him for NSW would just be a less-shit version of the Dean Young selection.
