Well, it's that time. Who's going to win? Personally I'm going with the Mariners. They've got a bit more experience and while they've clearly been lacking something since Rogic left, their strikers keep popping up and scoring goals. Am tempted to put some money on Mark Bridge scoring a goal though. Would love for some of the poms to watch the game and let us know their thoughts as well.
He's already bragged about how he bought tickets online and sold them for three times the price on eBay. No need to derail this thread with it. Anyway, CCM to break their horrendous finals record for the reasons I mentioned in the other thread. Should be a cracker game either way though.
Mariners should win this. It's gonna be an amazing atmosphere with both teams already sold out their supporter bays. Mariners 3-2
Not suprising. 10k tickets were sold within the first hour on Monday. Wanderers fan will outnumber Mariners a fair bit. From Mariners FB page: I've noticed a few comments on the Central Coast Mariners Official Page in regard to WSW fans claiming to buy tickets in the Mariners support section. It appears it is just WSW fans trolling. I will say this though - expect to be outnumbered and surrounded by Wanderers fans at the Grand Final. Expect their chanting to drown us out during the game. This isn't a poor reflection on our supporters, it's a simple reality that Western Sydney has a population of over 2 million. The Central Coast area has a population of 320 000. Be proud of the fact that despite the enormous population disparity we still get on average 10 000 to a game compared to the Wanderers 12 000. We might not have a long history, but we have one to be proud of. As a team the Mariners have the most wins, scored the most goals, conceded the least goals and won the most points of all teams in the competition since its inception. We have two Premierships to our name. So whilst we might not be the most glamorous, richest or loudest club in the A-League - we set the standard on the pitch and have done so time and time again. Not bad for the smallest club in the league. So who's actually going to the game?
That seems to be alot of people's predictions for the game. I don't see it being that high scoring but Mariners have been defending well lately and the Wanderers look exposed recently especially against the Roar who played poorly that day
