I'll edit this section tomorrow and set the scene properly. It is June 1941. Hitler's forces have had a free reign since the outbreak of hostilities 2 years ago. Nearly all of continental Europe has fallen to occupying German forces, despite the (at times) hindrance of their Italian friends. Operation Barbarossa has begun with Germany's surprise invasion of the Soviet Union. This has led the USSR to scramble around looking for potential friends and rebuilding her armies which were purged of many leading personnel in the 1930s. Meanwhile, the British Empire still stands alone, undefeated against Hitler's might. In Asia, Japan has waged war on China, but pressures being brought about by the USA's oil embargo could yet tip Japan and the US into a state of war... The objective of those on the Allied side is to eliminate all threats from the Axis. The objective of those on the Axis side is to have 50% or more of the lynch votes, and force the Allies into peace on Axis terms. Rules 1. Lynch votes must be bolded: e.g. lynch GingerFurball. Other variants such as kill or vote are not allowed. You must unlynch before voting to lynch someone else. 2. You must make at least one post every day unless you have a valid excuse. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Do it a second consecutive day and you will be mod-killed, and/or replaced. 3. Days will last 48 hours. For a lynch, a member must reach >50% of the eligible members' lynch votes. If this does not occur within the 48 hours, a no lynch will occur. If at any point during the day period, a member has reached the required number of votes, then the lynch will go through, regardless of the state of play when I advance the game. 4. Nights will last 24 hours (or until all night orders have been completed) and days will last as long as I see fit. You will be informed as to when night has begun. 5. Do not speak about this game outside of the thread unless your role specifies that you may, or I have specifically said otherwise. Not following this will result in being mod-killed. Any outside communication, if your role does allow, must be kept in your specific QT. 6. Do not quote anything from the moderator that is said outside of this thread such as role PM's or pretend to quote anything from the moderator. 7. Please do not edit posts. Do not delete either. 8. Once you are dead you may make one post. This post must not contain any new game-specific information. 9. Have fun and be respectful to your fellow players. Remember that it's just a game. 10. Night-talking is allowed, and encouraged. 11. Character claiming is not allowed. You may hint at who you are, but you may not claim outright eg "I'm the German Leader" is fine. "I'm Adolf Hitler" is not. Advice This game is very complicated. Making assumptions based on previous mafia games is likely to be to your detriment rather than actually help you (seriously). Read up more information on your role and character. It could be a good idea to do this as it allows you to plan potential strategies based on what your character could become. Also consider how you wish to play your role – some roles require plenty of thought in order to be played well. Be careful who you trust Keep in mind your extra objectives. Whilst they matter on an individual level, selfishly going after your objective may cost you the overall win. Player List 1. Chewie 2. Himannv, Jews of Europe 3. morgieb 4. Game Mechanics The strength and credits system are pretty much stolen from Star Wars Mafia II. However, there are a couple of additional mechanics in this game: Invasions If a General completes a kill on certain players, they will complete an invasion of a particular country. This gives that player's faction full access to the commodities of that country, which could prove to be extremely useful. Geography Whilst the strength system is more likely to come into play when determining whether a night kill will be successful, geography matters as well. If a kill fails, you need to take the possible geography as well as any strength mis-match into consideration. Items Items will become available to buy in this game as well, another mechanism shamelessly stolen from Star Wars II.
I suspect, going off the Star Wars Mafia, that certain players will have a higher strength rating than others and will thus be harder for the mafia to kill. The credits will presumably allow you to purchase certain items via some in-game market at some point, but I'm sure it'll become clear in the fullness of time.
Yeah I should think we'll be able to use our cash to build more air bases or some such to help fend off the Nazi raids on our lives. Or maybe bribe some villains into sharing Axis plans. Looking forward to this one. Slightly disappointed not to be a communist, GF missed a trick there.
If I ever run another mafia game I'm going to make TheShiv General Grevious regardless of the game's theme.
Things I expect from this game: Skippos not to be Japan, as he'll have to be there to the end before he gets destroyed. Switzerland to have to point out wifom in every post. Russia to have to end every post with "in soviet russia, you don't play mafia. Mafia plays you." Cribb to be included as America half way through the game, then do nothing, then be turned at the end of the game and use the two atomic bombs on England.
