Just as you said .. I've been brought up an Arsenal fan. I left the hospital in an Arsenal baby-grow... I didn't have much choice in the matter. I've never even contemplated switching sides though. I just love the club, I love the players, I love the manager, I love Arsenal. And somethings will never change.
The fact you support Parramatta indicates you just simply don't like winning sides. You can't support a top 4 side any longer, so a relegation candidate is your only option. Seriously though, the fact that it's a gradual change is probably because of all the personnel that have left since you really supported them. I know I miss the days where the likes of Hyypia, Riise, McManaman, Owen etc. played for Liverpool, and I don't feel any real attachment to the likes of Riera, Torres, Lucas, Benayoun etc. Watching your club sell some of your favourite players takes some toll in the end, even if they had no choice.
Yeah see I wasn't brought up as one. It just so happened that they won the title the year that I was old enough to watch football. That's about as far as it goes. I have a huge respect for Arsene Wenger and a lot of the players, make no mistake about that ... but as I've grown older my feelings have just changed. I feel so dirty lol. That's why I made this thread, to ask for 2nd opinions etc etc.
LOL. I love it when my side win, don't you worry dude. But yeah, I dunno. Did I even give any valid reasons? Or am I some sort of bandwagon jumper? :S
Hmm fair enough. Add to that.. Portsmouth are massively in the red and their owner is near bankruptcy
Arsenal vs Porsmouth.... What do you want the score to be? And hold on.... You liked Harry Redknapp?? And who do you hate more Tottenham or Southampton?
Yeah haha, that's the thing... I never even really hated Spurs either >_> Southampton no opinion on them yet..
Oh god don't even get me started on that subject. Others who have gotten me started on it to confirm...possibly.
As Phil Gould said you've got to have a few one night stands to find your true love. Personally I'd never switch my team, still support Leeds United... wake up every morning to watch the time tick by on livescore.com and if I'm lucky get a feed on the internet to watch parts of the game. I kind of wonder why I bother sometimes though tbh.
I dunno.. There's nothing wrong with wanting other teams in the Premiership to do well... As a different team, I like it when Everton do well, I like David Moyes, Arteta, Cahill, Jagielka and Yakubu. But if Everton played Arsenal i'd want the Gunners to win 600-0 without a second thought. They're just a smaller team I keep an eye on. I mean i'd rather they finished 5th than Villa. But thats as far as it goes.
I've done it a few times but only by marginal amounts and generally I supported both teams equally for a long time (Swans and Lions in AFL). No I didn't follow the crowd either, I supported the swans from when I was about 5 to maybe 8-9 years old then after going to all Brisbane Lions games i started following them (supported swans coz of tony lockett) and pretty much since then have supported Brisbane with the Swans as a 2nd team.
